Look After Yourself ~Don’t Forget About YOU~

Women to Women!

Parent to Parent!

Amidst the holiday rush, it’s vital to prioritize your well-being. We, as parents, strive to create a magical holiday for our kids and loved ones. However, in this pursuit, we often need to remember to take care of ourselves.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the holiday glitz and glamour, the twinkling lights, the festive decorations, and the excitement of the season, and get an overwhelming, intoxicating feeling that makes you GO GO GO. We get swept away by trying to enjoy every second with the people we love.

If you’re anything like the character Clark Griswold from the classic holiday movie ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, ‘who always goes above and beyond to create the perfect holiday, then YOU ARE MY PEOPLE!

The need to go to sleep late and wake up early so I can capture all the moments is so real and exhausting.

But I have found a way to fix that issue!

I hope these TIPS help you

  • Don’t put all the holiday responsibility on yourself
  • Everyday make someone different in charge of taking pics and planning a meal
  • Have a spa day
  • HYDRATE as soon as you wake up
  • Stock up on fruits and vegetables and easy-to-grab healthy snacks
  • Go for family walks ~ make it a priority to enjoy fresh air~

Make a conscious effort to carve out time for yourself. It’s not selfish, it’s necessary. You have the power to prioritize your well-being.

I would love to know what you are doing for yourself today.

Whatever it may be, make sure you are sprinkling in a bit of holiday joy. As for me, I’ll be going tonight and tomorrow morning to watch my daughter play basketball. But in the meantime, and in between times, I’ll be watching Holiday movies and enjoying good food and lots of quality time with my family.

Cheers to a safe, fun, and festive weekend!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Haha, gotta love Clark!
I’m resting and walking for the next couple of days to let the new injection work. We have entertainment tonight at the clubhouse, so ill enjoy that. Now I’ll be ready for any festivities that come my way leading up to and beyond the holiday season. And, I wont have to miss anymore bike rides!

  2. love all of your tips. I have decided to try something this year. No spending, or less only for my grandchildren and my mother. I stayed home Thanksgiving, cleaned, cooked and put up my tree. I am doing the same for x-Mas. At 60 I enjoy a less expensive and peaceful holiday season. Happy Holidays 🥳

  3. You’re right. Having time set aside to relax is vital to not becoming burnt out. I’ve learned that over the years. It helps so much to slow down and take a break when possible
