Waking up, your body can definitely become tougher as you age!
With each passing year, our muscles tend to lose strength and flexibility, and recovery from activities takes longer. This can make it more challenging to feel energized and motivated in the morning. However, there are still effective strategies to help ease the process: Wake up your body!
Waking up your body is not as daunting as it may seem. It can be as simple as incorporating a few healthy habits into your morning routine.
Here are seven straightforward ideas
1. Stretching: Start with some gentle stretches to loosen up your muscles and improve circulation.
2. Hydration: Drink a glass of water to rehydrate after a night’s sleep.
3. Light Exercise: Engage in a short workout or a brisk walk to get your heart rate up.
4. Deep Breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to increase oxygen flow and energize your mind.
5. Healthy Breakfast: Fuel your body with a balanced breakfast that includes protein, healthy fats, and whole grains.
6. Cold Shower: A quick cold shower can invigorate your senses and wake you up.
7. Mindful Meditation: Spend a few minutes in meditation to center your mind and prepare for the day ahead.
Find what works best for you and make it a consistent part of your routine!
Once you begin to move, you’ll see that your metabolism/body isn’t dead; you need a nudge to wake up. Everyone is unique, with different preferences and needs. So again, it’s essential to find what works best for you and tailor your morning routine accordingly!
How you start your day is the way you will end your day.

depression keeps me under the covers…and then my wife just tells me to just get over it…..

Oh my 🥺 Those are the worst empty words, one shouldn’t ever hear when depression hits. I am so sorry your wife’s lack of empathy for you is grim and cold. Depression is not something we can just “get over.” It’s a chemical imbalance in the brain that we have no control over.
Sending positive and uplifting energy. May your days be brighter and your depression lift from the dark abyss. ✨⚡️🙏🏻
I hope your wife develops empathy and gains a much better understanding of how depression affects the mind.

All very good recommendations, Bella! I try to do them all except the cold shower, I simply cannot make myself do it. 😀

I am doing most of it, except 4 and 6. 4 has a good chance with me, 6 definitely doesn’t 😉
I do like to look out of the window from my bed before I get up (after stretching), especially in summer, and listen to the birds.

Yes 6 is a little sketchy. LOL My husband takes cold baths and I don’t know how he does it.
