Mental Health Check ~Look After Yourself~

Remember, your mental well-being is the foundation of your physical health. If your mind isn’t in the right place, your body won’t be either. It’s all connected!

Over the last month, we’ve explored the fitness journey, its expectations, and our workout plan for weeks 1-4. But we’ve missed a crucial point: mental state. It’s okay to struggle, and it’s okay to address it.

Taking care of ourselves mentally is the most critical first step. If we are dealing with difficult times or finding it challenging to emerge from a dark place, we may not be ready to receive positive change. I understand that striking this balance can be difficult, but it’s necessary.

Seasonal Darkness

Life is hard, and sometimes, a season can trigger something in you that you can’t control. When you’re going through your darkest hours, you can feel like you’re the only one experiencing this, and that can make you lose sight of any hope, let alone goals.

Practicing Looking After Yourself

Once a week, I ask everyone how they plan on looking after themselves. I ask this question because ensuring that you are taking care of yourself is the most effective step we can take.

We can accomplish this in various ways, and most methods require little to no financial investment. For instance,

  • Meditation
  • Yoga
  • Going for a walk
  • Surrounding yourself with friends and family
  • Read
  • Implementing a nutritional diet
  • GO TO CHURCH

How are you looking after yourself

I would love to know how you are looking after yourself this week.

This week, I’m taking care of myself by getting my hands dirty and beautifying my garden. Growing my food is satisfying, and it tastes better than anything you buy in the store.

In the meantime, I will be cheering my daughter on at her upcoming basketball tournaments.

I hope you all have the best week. Take a walk, drink plenty of water, and spend time with the ones you love.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored

  1. That’s very true, Bella, our body will suffer if we don’t take care of our mental health.

My garden is a great comfort to me, and this week we have eaten our own potatoes for the first time. The scallions are soon ready to harvest, and the chilies are flowering. We meditate every morning to start the day in a positive, calm and collected manner.

I wish you and your family a very good week! ❤
