Dare a girl drinks a cocktail

Lord forbid a girl has a cocktail!

When you’re into fitness and have clients who see you out having a good time, they feel as if it’s their place to tell you to drink more water. This hasn’t happened to me in quite some time, as I no longer train clients in my area. But when I did, and they saw me out, they would feel compelled to tell me to “drink more water.” These comments, while well-intentioned, often made me feel as though I was being watched even in my personal time, which affected my ability to relax and enjoy myself.

These incidents made me realize the importance of personal boundaries and the need to strike a balance between my social life and my professional image. This is one of the reasons why being drunk in public is not my thing.

First Things First

My interactions with clients are always respectful. I may be a high-energy, silly person, but I also have a serious side. This balance of fun and professionalism is a key part of my approach. I don’t appreciate my clients speaking to me in any old way, and I make sure to show them the same respect.

Respecting personal boundaries is crucial in my approach. There’s a clear difference between guiding them on my plan and interfering when they’re not. If I see them out with friends or their husband, I wouldn’t overstep and tell them what they’re eating or drinking is all wrong. That’s clearly not my place to do that.

My Time is My Time

This past weekend, my husband was eager to go dancing, and who am I to say no? So, we went to a restaurant that features a live band playing only Latin music, which is, coincidentally, my favorite. We danced and we danced like no one was watching; however, while I was sipping my cocktail, the thought of an ex-client spotting me drinking ran across my mind. And when it did, I was pissed, so I ordered another one.

Then my husband grabbed me up and twirled me to the dance floor, and the only thing I could think was, “hell yeah, I’m ordering another one, and I’ll save my water intake for tomorrow”.

But tonight we sip fancy drinks, we eat, and we dance recklessly!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Back when I had a column and a show on cable, a lot of the time it was like minded individual, but, I’ll never forget a review I wrote that was critical of a promoter and the shit show I received for that made me rethink being public, and maybe had me pulling my punches…now though, I couldn’t imagine, everyone seems to think they own everyone that’s visible such as yourself….I try ot just be respectful, and be as social as I want..if someone wants to join me for a run on a day I wants some alone time, I just say that….
