I asked AI, “Who is the best person to look after you”? And this is what it said!
According to AI
It really depends on your specific needs and preferences. Generally, a close friend or family member who knows you well can provide excellent care and support. A professional caregiver might be best for medical or specialized needs. However, it’s crucial to remember that the best caretaker is often yourself. Taking care of your own well-being, being dependable, compassionate, and understanding your own needs, is a significant part of the equation.
Do you agree?
In this context, I agree. If you have a caregiver, you naturally want someone who has your best interest at heart and will help you to the best of their ability.
Who looks after you?
When I look back on my life, I see that different people at various stages of my life looked after me. However, it wasn’t until I began looking after myself and became self-aware that I saw hope, promise, and the light at the end of the tunnel. This journey of self-awareness inspired and motivated me to grow personally.
When my daughter was entering her teenage years, her self-esteem started to slump. I didn’t know why, and she couldn’t put it into words. But she did tell me that she didn’t feel pretty enough, smart enough, or brave.
My husband and I would tell her how brilliant she was; we celebrated all of her significant achievements and always complimented her on how smart and athletic she was.
But our words didn’t get through until she saw what we saw!
She began to take care of herself by exercising daily, eating clean, writing, and not accepting any grade other than an A or a B.
She now knows who she is and she’s exactly who she thinks she is.
It’s impossible to stress how important it is to be the main person to look after YOU. No one will love you more than you can, nor will anyone look after your best interest more than YOU.
I would love to know what you plan to do this weekend to look after yourself.
What I’ll be doing
Reading, writing, watching movies, and going to a quick event with my husband (photos to come).
Happy Friday!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I agree completely with you, Bella. I can so understand your daughter that your words were not enough, she had to see for herself. But she is lucky to have you two as parents, you have her back. That is the most important thing, I think, for a child and young adult, to feel loved and safe at home.
My weekend will look a lot like yours, except no event, but taking care of my garden. And baking banana cake. Alas, some bananas are too old … 😉

I would rather come to your house for banana cake!!! The event is going to brutal with gross food. Can’t wait to get back home and watch a movie.
Thank you, love my kiddos and watching them develop into responsible-ISH young adults is rewarding.

with that being said, I can sometimes be my worst friend…I’m at my best when I have friends that build me up or help keep me positive…and that being said, I spent an hour yesterday talking Austrailian movies and music with Chat GPT…

I recently has to update my will and had to select the person who will be head of my estate. There is only one person I can that can and is willing to take this on. My best friend. I have a son, but can I burden him with taking care of me. He has three children and a wife. My siblings show on interest in my life as I am well and able to take care of myself. I don’t fear death. I fear dying alone in a care home.

I don’t fly a ton but the words of a flight attendant from years ago jump out at me: “you have to put on your oxygen mask first before you can help someone else!” Great reminder Belladonna. Gotta look after myself and believe in myself so I can be there for others.

That is so good that you were able to point out to your daughter and she adapted to taking care of herself. So important at that age to realize that you are responsible for you.

It wasn’t easy but with God’s help she made it out of the dark thinking. Thank you so much for saying that.
