There are many refreshers that you can make at home, but this one is my Summer go-to Refresher!
Once a week, I buy a giant watermelon and slice it up. We eat half of it, and I juice the remaining half. This juice is not only delicious but also packed with health benefits. You can get creative with it-store it in the refrigerator, and when you’re ready to give your body a quick pick-me-up, pull out your watermelon juice. Add mint, sparkling water, or coconut water to your watermelon juice, and don’t forget to add lots of ice. The possibilities are endless!
Benefits of watermelon
Watermelon is not only a delicious and hydrating fruit, but it also offers several health benefits:
1. Hydration Composed of about 92% water, watermelon is excellent for staying hydrated, especially in hot weather.
2. Nutrient-Rich: It is rich in vitamins A and C, both of which are important for skin health and immune function.
3. Low in Calories: Watermelon is low in calories, making it an excellent snack for those watching their weight.
4. Antioxidants: Watermelon contains antioxidants like lycopene and beta-carotene, which can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases and protect against cell damage.
5. Supports Heart Health: Lycopene has been linked to heart health, and watermelon also contains citrulline, which may help improve blood flow and reduce blood pressure.
6. Digestive Health: It is a good source of fiber (in the pulp), which supports healthy digestion.
7. Muscle Soreness Relief: Some studies suggest that drinking watermelon juice may reduce muscle soreness after exercise due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
By incorporating watermelon into your diet, you’re not just enjoying a tasty treat, but also boosting your overall health. The numerous health benefits of watermelon, from hydration to heart health, make it a smart and delicious choice for your well-being!
Let me know if you try it and how you like this delicious and refreshing beverage. I’d love to hear about your experiences with this recipe or any variations you’ve tried!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Yummy. I live in New York. There is a truck in Harlem that has the best Watermelons and they make the juice. Great stuff.

When my late father used to have bp spikes, I always made him eat watermelon.
I myself have used watermelon smoothies to lose weight by ‘cleansing’ and shared it with my friend too.
I have high bp (controlled) and though I drink water all day, in Colorado, my skin remains dry. I should keep some and drink it to see if it would provide better hydration. 😍 Thanks for sharing and reminding me of the benefits!
