It’s the holiday season, YES, BUT we all still have work to do!
Here’s what I know for sure. If you are reading this, then you are off to a great ending in 2023.
You are not going to be one of the millions of people who say I will start my fitness journey on January 1st. Then, by February, you forget how to get to the gym, how to lift weights, and how to pace yourself on the treadmill or bike.
Here’s the problem!
We are all in a good mood, gathering with friends and family over the holidays. We’re eating late, drinking late, and sleeping late. The occasional waking up with a hangover is happening, and that causes you to sit around all day questioning your life.
Then 6:30 pm hits, and you find a second wind to get back on that party horse and go for another round—more late-night eating, drinking, hanging out, or watching movies until early in the morning.
December 27th rolls around, and you are feeling dazed and confused because the days are all running together, and you can’t remember if it’s Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, or hell, maybe it’s Saturday.
At this POINT, who the HELL KNOWS!
I know how this plays out because, hello, I’m human, and I, too, like to have a good time.
But if we set up a schedule now, then we can prevent all of this reckless behavior from happening. All we need to do is set up a few key nonnegotiables.
- Commit to taking care of yourself now
- As soon as you wake up, start drinking your water
- Get to your workout
- Eat
- Take a shower/bath
- Get dressed
- The rest of the day is your
- Have fun
- Enjoy your loved ones
- Be a blessing
If you start your day on a high note, then you have a greater chance of ending it the same way.
Gift yourself the gift of excellent health. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I like your style, Belladonna.
Yes, yes, yes! Exercise is my first call – nothing too strenuous, just some resistance band workouts and a little leg work with squats, lunges, pulse squats, etc. Feels so good to do this first thing. Really sets up the day, as you said.
Here’s to a great end to 2023, and a fabulous 24!

Resistance bands are the best. I hope you have a great ending to 2023 and the best year ahead.

One of my favorite drinks is water – works well for all occasions and you don’t feel guilty drinking a lot of it.

Very well said Donna. Couldn’t have said better. Working out while hard to get started with, worth the effort and makes everything else better with consistency.
