~Saturday Fit Tip~

Hello, you sexy love muffin!

I can’t believe you are here, don’t get me wrong; I’m happy to see you and welcome you with open arms. But I refuse to allow you to make me feel like I need to work overtime in order to feel good in the skin I’m in.

I mean, I’ve worked hard all year on my body, but to some, it may look like I’ve just started this fitness journey that I’m on. And to them, I say, “Mind your own business.” All bodies are beautiful, and I will not compare mine to anyone else’s.

All of my scars I own them

All of my dimples, I own them

All of my extra fluff, I own them

All of my imperfections, I own them

I love me, and anyone else’s love is extra. So I welcome you, Summer, and I’m looking forward to us making more beautiful memories.

~Saturday Fit Tip~

This letter to Summer are the words I help my clients remember. Just because we have entered this beautiful season doesn’t mean you need to be hard on yourself. Don’t shy away from wearing your shorts and T-shirt because you have a few plus pounds to lose. Don’t allow weight to keep you from the beach or community pool. And most of all, DON’T PUT UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS ON YOURSELF.

What do I mean by that?

Many of us make the mistake of starving ourselves to lose weight, or we eat healthy meals but over-train. Overtraining will cause injuries and drive you to give up because results aren’t happening as quickly as we would like.

Welcome Summer just as you are, and take baby steps towards your desired body or healthy lifestyle. Say something kind to yourself today, love yourself, and compare yourself to only yourself!

Happy Saturday, my beautiful people!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. what i’m loving, so many runners, track stars, and marathoners, are not afraid to show what a women actually normally look like, even them…I can’t remember names, but one that’s had a couple of children..and says proudly, yep, this is what that looks like…Alissa Cara’s song was right on as well….

    1. Amen!!!!! Her song was spot on. I’m so glad that women are finding comfort in their skin. We go through a lot and change is going to happen no matter how hard we fight against it. And that’s not a bad thing.
      Embrace those scars!

  2. I’ve found my sweet spot when it comes to diet and exercise. Moderation and plenty of hydration work for me. The good stuff has become a habit. And I do it not for what it makes me look like, but for what it makes me feel like.
