ONE thing all new dieters need to know

Before you lace up those sneakers and dig into that salad, you absolutely must read this! It’s crucial for your understanding of effective weight loss strategies.

There are a million and one things that new dieters need to know before embarking on their new journey. However, this one thing is the most important.

Are you ready for it?

The one crucial fact that all new dieters need to grasp is that traditional diets don’t deliver the long-term results we want!

Whenever someone says the word diet, I think of all the diets that were hot in the early 90s and early 2000s. Dieters did whatever they needed to lose 10-20 pounds quickly. And then they gained back every pound just as quickly as they lost it, if not faster.

It’s not just the weight that comes back but also the loose skin, a constant reminder of the failed attempts at quick fixes. This is a stark reminder of the long-term effects of unsuccessful diets, and it’s a concern that many dieters face.

Stop going on DIETS!

Instead, change your life and adopt a new way of navigating it. We can do this by normalizing movement every day, such as taking a brisk walk in the morning, doing a quick home workout, and cooking our meals so that we are in control of what we put into our bodies, like preparing a balanced meal with fresh ingredients.

Give your body 30 DAYS

Your mind and body need 30 days to recognize that you are doing something different with your daily routine. This is because it takes time for your body to adjust to new habits and for your mind to accept these changes as the new norm. At around the 30-day mark, a light bulb turns on, and your body is like, ‘Oh, I see what we are trying to do here.’

After 30 days, your lifestyle change becomes more manageable, and making good choices for your body becomes second nature. You’ll want to continue making these good choices, and you’ll begin to mentally distance yourself from quick fixes.

So, remember, it’s not about diets but about making sustainable lifestyle changes. You’ll thank yourself later!

  1. you know, my take on diets piss so many people…first, throw out that bathroom scale…and never look in a mirror and don’t use a selfie to judge anything…how do you feel?

and don’t diet…go into a book store, look at the diet book section, notice how huge that section is…if they all worked why would there be so many? though I will admit I like weight watchers, and fact that they’ve been around so long may be for some reason…but turn around and look at the cook book section, pick one, and cook something….learning how to and enjoying cooking has changed my life…it doesn’t take a long time to do most dishes…

and just be happy being you….yes, I’d love to have a body like Matthew whatever his name is, but that’ll never be me like Miley Cyrus says….I do stuff, I eat stuff, I still cheat…and when I eat well, sleep well, and do stuff/active well, I feel well….and learn how to double dutch a skip rope…you’ll thank yourself

  2. I couldn’t agree more, Bella, lifestyle changes are the way to go. They are what made me lose all those kilos over some time now, most last year. It is stalling a bit because I have been developing muscles, but I can feel from my clothes that I am getting slimmer, and firmer too.

So there’s this guy who’s a really close friend of mine, and he has this important match in December. Blud thinks that eating only kale for 3 weeks is gonna whip him into shape🤦‍♀️ Girl I need you to knock some sense into him😂

      1. Ofc I will! He hasn’t even started, coz he’s a heavy procrastinator, and I’m half worried for him. If he would’ve been on WP, I would’ve shown him your health posts, but he’s not, so…

  4. This is so important – it’s a long haul thing and while you can get off for an evening or a day or two the lifestyle needs to be something you can live with.
As you say the benefits take a while to kick in and rest must not be underestimated in its importance.
