Go until you get right, momma

With unwavering determination, we can persevere and achieve our health and wellness goals!

You have to ask yourself, “How determined am I to lose weight and keep it off”?

Weight loss often presents the challenge of managing hunger and cravings. However, armed with practical strategies like eating high-fiber foods such as broccoli, lentils, and avocados, staying hydrated with water or herbal teas, and planning healthy snacks like apple slices with almond butter or carrot sticks with hummus, we can confidently overcome these hurdles and stay on track. For instance, you can prepare a week’s worth of healthy snacks in advance to avoid reaching for unhealthy options when hunger strikes.

You’ll struggle with losing weight if you aren’t willing to put your body into a calorie deficit. This means you need to consume fewer calories than your body burns in a day. We feel the slightest bit of hunger, and we cave into all of our cravings.

One of the biggest hurdles we face is setting unrealistic expectations and then feeling disheartened when we don’t see immediate results. Remember, patience and persistence are key.

We give up too easily. Losing weight takes time, gaining muscle takes time, and it takes time for your body to recognize the changes you are making to your diet.

I don’t care what you’ve heard, you aren’t going to achieve any of your body goals in 30 days, and because of that, the majority of us will fail to keep going. Once frustration sets in, which typically happens around week 3, we stop and say, ‘Well, that diet doesn’t work for my body type.

Wrong! It can and will work if you keep going and make lifestyle changes. Not only changes that you are willing to maintain for a couple of weeks, but changes that you are willing to make for the rest of your life.

You might stumble once, twice, three times, or even year after year, but don’t stop until you get right, Momma! You are capable and stronger than you know.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Great advice! I’m currently struggling with it but you know why. Hopefully, once I get my back issues straightened out, ill be able to exercise more. Ever since quitting the nicotine, food is just darn delicious. 😁

  3. I can second that, Bella, I am struggling myself. I first thought that I could lose weight with muscle training, but no, that only exchanges fat with muscles. I only lose weight when I also go on walks or bicycle trips. I lose most weight when walking. (I don’t run, my knees are too old for that.) I am reducing the amount of food now, slowly, slowly, and the weight loss is also slow, slow, but better than zero or up.
