Being a mom and a wife is a tough job, but I’m equipped to handle all the things. Well, with God, wine, and exercise, I’m well-equipped to handle all the things. And let’s not forget, heavy on the WINE! (Don’t worry, it’s just for the laughs)
So, what’s the most challenging job you’ve ever had? I’m sure we all have some interesting stories to share!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I’m dying laughing over here (the cup ~ LOLOLOL) … TBH the toughest most challenging, across the so many “jobs” board = caregiving! At least you look fabulous juggling, Belladonna ❤ and can add that to the resume along with comedic relief! 😀

Working at a medical clinic that serviced homeless men located at their shelter. Lots of drama and some successes in getting some guys health back to support their journey.

OMG Ned!!! I would love to read about some stories that took place.

Sorry, none that I can share without violating patient privacy. All I can say is that homeless men are not all alike and cover a full spectrum of types of people. The saddest being those who have been tossed out of nursing homes because the lost their medicaid coverage for one reason or another. The new big beautiful bill out of Congress this year will mean many more people will be tossed out into being homeless and helpless in late 2026, unless there are changes in the laws just passed.

Awwww that breaks my heart. So damn sad, we have to do better and help protect the people who need it most. The big beautiful bill has many flaws!

I had to think about this one … it seems the biggest challenge of all was my first marriage. When I fell in love with my first husband, he looked and behaved like a gentle introvert with mystical touches 😉 🙂 What I didn’t know was that he had been a drug addict, just weaned himself from the drug and had just started healing. However he changed under the healing process, and however he behaved to me later, I admire him for getting out of his addiction without help from outside. That is not a small achievement.

That is so uncommon, great job for him!
My goodness I can’t even imagine how you felt you found out about his past. That is scary and I’m glad he didn’t hurt you physically.

He was not violent, just not the man I fell in love with in the end. We had a peaceful separation. 🙂

Yes, we both had witnessed many nasty separations and didn’t want to do that to us, so that went fine.

One of my more challenging jobs which I also enjoyed because it was not run of the mill was working for the City of NY as a property appraiser. My counsellor at University helped me nail the job. I had to drive a car around NY and the surrounding boroughs. We usually worked with a partner and took pics of property to be sold because of foreclosure or something. Anyway, I got horribly lost in some sketchy areas, chased by some thugs once, and once we took a pic of a retired Mob boss. We were instructed to get ‘lost’ somewhere for the rest of the day, so I went to a dance studio and practiced dancing which I loved. It was both exciting and dangerous at times. When there was a freeze, and times were hard they brought us inside and I helped draw up house maps, and do various other things in the office in a group of mostly Arabic speakers who would yell excitedly. I have to say I enjoyed it most of the time but the only way it was manageable was because I was a little naive, in my 20’s and up for adventure.

I figured looking around the dance studio full of ballerina’s, tap, and jazz dancers that if a big Italian guy came in with a mean expression and a couple of buddies…people would notice.

Thank you, Belladonna! I was just repeating that same phrase to my husband this morning while we were getting pedicures. Shh, don’t tell, we both go! Anyway, I said “We are both getting older but I feel we have both lived and took chances, sometimes not knowing any better! Thank you! Enjoy your weekend!

I love that he goes with you. They need pampering too. Isn’t that a good feeling, knowing you didn’t just sit and watch life pass by but you took risks. Love that. Enjoy your weekend.
