Did the house choose them? ~Part 3~

A car, seemingly materializing out of thin air, was hurtling towards her, a sudden and terrifying threat!

Friday nights, usually a time for relaxation, turned into a heart-pounding race against a known enemy. Margaret’s hair, once free and wild, now whipped against her face as she made sharp right turns, then left, then straight, the wind no longer a gentle caress but a fierce opponent.

As she swerved to the right, he slammed the gas pedal, and Margaret was catapulted into the air like a bird in flight, the tension palpable in the air.

One might have expected Margaret to reveal the truth once she was safe in her hospital bed. But she chose to remain silent, her inner turmoil a puzzle to all. She knew that exposing him would shatter the love she cherished. But perhaps Margaret should have fled from him instead of bearing three more children.

The nurses, police officers, and doctors urged Margerette to protect herself and give up the name of the man who tried to kill her and her unborn baby. But instead of telling them that it was her husband, she had them draw out a scatch of a young white male with blonde hair.

This is who the police began looking for!

With the case hinging on a vague description, it was inevitably dropped, and that’s precisely what Margret desired. Margaret craved him; she would yield to his every whim, and he was well aware of it. If he demanded her to leap, he knew she would ask, ‘How high?’

He loved his control over her, and she, in turn, loved him despite the fear and pain he caused her. Her love for him was a complex mix of devotion, fear, and a desperate hope for change.

She knew the perfect house that would do just that.
