Christmas Fit Check

Let’s not just get fit, but let’s get Christmas fit!

Embracing the concept of ‘Christmas fit’ means not just staying healthy, but doing so in a way that aligns with the festive spirit.

Here are some tips to help you stay active and feel great throughout the festivities:

1. Stay Active: Embrace the joy of physical activity during the holidays. Whether it’s a post-meal stroll, a fun-filled ice skating session, or a family workout, let the festive spirit fuel your enthusiasm for staying active.

2. Healthy Eating Choices: While the holiday season tempts us to indulge, it’s crucial to strike a balance. Load your plate with a variety of colorful vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Don’t forget to make the most of the healthy options available!

3. Portion Control: Enjoy your favorite holiday dishes, but be mindful of your portion sizes. You can savor treats without overindulging.

4. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Sometimes, we mistake thirst for hunger. Keeping hydrated helps you feel fuller and can prevent overeating.

5. Plan Active Gatherings: Instead of just sitting around, suggest active get-togethers with family and friends, like a group hike, a game of football, or a dance-off!

6. Prioritize Sleep: The holiday hustle can disrupt your sleep schedule. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep to help you stay energized and focused.

7. Practice Mindfulness: With so much going on, take a moment to breathe and enjoy the season. Mindfulness can help you manage stress and make healthier choices.

8. Set Realistic Goals: Don’t be daunted by the holiday season. Instead of aiming for drastic changes, set achievable fitness goals that you can realistically incorporate into your holiday schedule. You’ve got this!

Remember, the goal is to enjoy the festivities while maintaining a balance that keeps you feeling great because there is nothing worse than dragging through the holidays.

Happy holidays!

  1. This is helpful during the season to remember. I was proud of myself . I feel like I paced my buying of presents and wrapping them in good timing without overwhelming myself. I’m learning to space tasks out and it helps so much. Great post
