6 Must Do’s To Keep Off The Holiday POUNDS

Soldiers, your commitment to your fitness goals is crucial. With less than two months left, it’s time to take charge and get your life in order!

Remember, you’re not alone in this journey. If you’re feeling like you don’t have enough time to exercise, or you’re unsure of what to do, or you’re lacking a workout partner, or you’re struggling to find motivation, remember that you have someone who will guide you to where you want to be.

Don’t let the holiday parties, with their late-night eating and drinking, deter you from your fitness goals. You have the power to stay intense and focused, no matter the temptations!

Six ways to keep off the Holiday Pounds

1. Balanced Diet: Focus on whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Reducing sugary snacks and processed foods can help manage calorie intake.

2. Regular Exercise: Incorporate cardio and strength training into your routine. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity each week. Regular exercise not only keeps you fit but also boosts your mood and energy levels, inspiring you to keep going.

3. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Understanding that our bodies sometimes confuse thirst with hunger can empower you to make healthier choices and avoid unnecessary snacking.

4. Portion Control: Take control of your eating habits by paying attention to portion sizes. Using smaller plates or measuring out servings can help prevent overeating, making you more mindful of what and how much you eat.

5. Get Enough Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night. Poor sleep can disrupt hormones that regulate appetite, leading to weight gain.

6. Set Realistic Goals: Instead of aiming for quick weight loss, focus on gradual changes that you can maintain long-term. Setting wise, achievable goals can help keep you motivated and build your confidence in your ability to make lasting changes.

We all are capable of doing this, and we owe it to ourselves to stay committed to our fitness goals!

Agree especially about the hydration and the sleep. Those are key, says she who might not have learned that lesson until last year.

  2. oh come on, it’s almost Christmas!….home baking, and lots of wine…turkey with all the fixings…..as I’ve aged I know it’ll take a while to work off all of that…..but, well, that’s what new year’s resolutions are for

  3. Fortunately, as vegetarians we are not so much in danger as far as the typical holiday food is concerned. We made our own traditions.

Our only hard habit to break are the sweets. The remains from Halloween were gone in no time at all. Not buying them in the first place, is the only way for us.

I am being a good girl with drinking water and even trying to get 7 hours of sleep every night. Usually it is 6 hours.

So, you see I am taking your good advice to heart! Have a great holiday season, Bella! 🙂 ❤

    1. Stella that is so good, being a vegetarian is commendable!
6-7 hours of sleep is great! You wouldn’t believe how many people try to function on 4or 5 hours, little water and wonder why they can’t focus, lose weight and many other things.

  4. I stayed ahead of myself this year by beginning the regimen (I won’t call it diet) in October. Cut back but still have fun. I’m determined to get through this season at weight if not a few pounds down.
