Where My Hug At?

The cringe factor is off the charts when men say this!

Whether you know me or not, I hate this; however, not knowing me and having the nerve to part your lips to have “where my hug at” come out of your mouth might get you punched.

This weekend, my son was free from football practice, so we were able to have a long weekend with him. But along with his beautiful presence came his sassy and ornery mouth.

As soon as he walked through the door, he held his arms up, and with a big smile, he said, “WHERE MY HUG AT?”

Without a second thought, I pulled him in for the warmest embrace. And then it hit me, boy, you are being s smart butt, and you know I hate that. But I kept my mouth shut and got my hug. I’ll never skip out on a hug from my giant.

And he knows that!

So, I decided to try it out on my husband and see how he would respond to it. It should have been okay since my husband loves hugs, but it seems like he doesn’t like them that much.

Picture It

My husband was downstairs in his office, minding his own business, and here I come skipping along, to cause trouble per usual.

I turned my coffee pot on and waited for him to get off a call, and there I was, smiling with my arms stretched wide. He saw me and smiled, and then I said, Hey BOO WHERE MY HUG AT?

Well, it turns out he hates it too!

He turned around and went back into his office without giving me my hug, so of course, I skipped after him to get my hug.

You could have chosen any blog to read but chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Now, that’s just silly for him to act like that with you, but I guess its a thing with both of you. Anytime I can get a hug from my hubby, I take it. Of course, I don’t say it first and neither does he. I might say it to one of my boys if they don’t hug me immediately when. See them, lol!

  2. I am currently listening to My Boo by Ghost Town DJs. My husband is fascinated that people ask for permission before going in for a hug (we watch Catfish) and Kami said, “Would it be okay if I hugged you?” I told him if she asked me, I would say no. I am not a huggie person. No one better come at me with a “where my hug at” unless they are going for humor or are my immediate family.

    1. Yes I am so with y’all on this!!! Don’t ask if you know me and if you don’t know me then please don’t even bother asking because you will get ignored.
We do it to each other for humor but it’s still so cringy! LOL
