A good transformation story can inspire thousands of people that desire a significant overhaul of their life.
It doesn’t matter what area you’ve transformed in. A renewal, cleansing, and overhaul are hard to do and must be praised when someone accomplishes this task. To reach this level of success, you have to stay in a positive state of mind. Talking down to yourself will get you nowhere QUICKLY!
I love talking to my clients and being their motivator, but I will pump the brakes if I hear them say these things;
I still have a lot of work to do in this area, but…
I’m not where I want to be, but…
I know a lot of other people are better than me but…
I know I have a long way to go.
I could go on and on, but I won’t because I think you get my point.
Here’s the thing. We all have a starting point. Right?
And when you’re trying to change your life in an area, you have to know you won’t nail whatever you’re trying to do right away. But with consistency and time, you will.
The trick is to be proud of every step you make. It doesn’t matter if you make a gigantic leap one day and the next day; you look and see that you’re taking baby steps. Stop being hard on yourself and celebrate your progress.
I have clients that struggled to do a correct push-up when we began working together. And then, in a short period, they can do multiple. However, they always yield a warning before doing their push-up.
They will say something like, “My form needs some work, and I’m not able to go all the way down, BUT…… I’m doing a better job than I did last week.” I cringe, and yell out, “Stop taking away from your progress by speaking negatively.” Just do the damn push-up without all the extra nonsense.
Oh, and number 2 on my list is a big one that I HATE to hear. It’s always paired with a weight loss progress report. And it will go a little like this:
I have lost inches and gained s much muscle, I’m not where I want to be, BUT I’m feeling and looking so much better than I used to.
News Flash, the negative part of that statement wasn’t necessary. We are ALL striving to be better at something and will NEVER be 100% satisfied. That’s life and who we are as humans. However, we don’t need to speak negativity into the atmosphere. It doesn’t serve a purpose. Just keep pushing forward, and don’t kill your progress.
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Belladonna, I appreciate your honesty. You know, every one of us is a work in progress. No matter how perfect we try to be, we won’t reach that level of perfection because there will always be room for improvement. 😊 As long as we live, there will always be something new to learn, something educational and exciting to share, and something we can always imagine and create.
We may not be where we want to be, but thank God, if we do things the right way, with the right mindset and willingness, we are in a better position than we used to be! That’s progress! And you’re right, we will NEVER be 100% satisfied. 😱👏🏼😁❤✨

You make so many good points here. We hurt ourself when we start talking to ourselves with negative words.

Thank you, yes we sure do. We can be so cruel to ourselves and quick to praise others.

Why is is so easy to kill our progress like that? I hadn’t really thought about it in any depth until reading this. But I do it all the time. Not cool! lol At least I can change how I speak to myself after reading this.

I try my best to exercise. On days when I’m not feeling so motivated, I do a sloppy job, but it’s better than not doing anything. That’s what I tell myself.
