TikTok won’t let me be great ~REPOST~

I regret making a TikTok account.

I’m struggling with attracting women who want to work out and feel empowered. My mission is to make women of all sizes think comfortable in their skin. In addition, I want to break the stigma about women and weight lifting.

In case you haven’t heard, ” women who lift weights start to look like men” Oh yeah, you didn’t know that? Right me either!

The misguided crap that women are spoon-fed irritates the hell out of me. Our bodies are strong and capable of holding on to muscle and curves, but society doesn’t show off those women. Instead, we see the women with stick bird-like legs, flat as a pancake stomach ad breast the size of cantaloupes. We also see the occasional girl fresh right out of the doctor’s office with a BBL. Because you know Kim Kardashian made big booties famous, right? Yeah, once again, “me either.”

I refuse to believe that lumpy butt is natural!

I digress; my goal on TikTok was to show off muscle and teach women to walk with power and work for muscle, not skinny. But you know what I received on TikTok? I’ll tell ya what I was greeted with, a bunch of nasty foul mouth heathens that can turn a post about muscle into a sexual thing.

I was disgusted and never posted another video.

However, I did look at all the athletic TikTokers, and the ones that get the most views are the girls squatting so close to the camera that it seems like their buns are coming through my screen or the athletes that are on a massive weight loss journey.

I’m just a workout buff trying to find my spot! Suggestions are welcomed and needed.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

      1. Lol I will tell no lies! I just have not been motivated to move and I have not been eating much. My sleep has not been great, I am learning too many new things, I am happy and loving myself though.

  1. Girl, it seems like sex sells, and if you don’t present yourself in a seductive or salacious way, you won’t get a lot of likes. Sadly, I think this covers just about any topic you can think of. 😣 Don’t get frustrated or discouraged. I don’t have an answer or suggestion to your question, but continue to forge ahead, because I believe the answer or channel of communication will be revealed sooner or later! You are not a quitter, just revamp and redirect. Your audience will come girlfriend! 🚶🏽‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

    1. Thank you Kym!! Unfortunately you are 💯 right. It’s so frustrating but I appreciate the words of encouragement and I will keep trying and position myself where I can help without twerking on camera🤦🏽‍♀️ My kids would dig a hole and throw me in it🤣 and I would help them.

      1. LOL, I love your sense of humor Belladonna! 🤣😆😂 Heck, I’d join in with you and the kids and help you enter a witness protection program if you resorted to twerking! Hmmm….you just might, however, get more followers than you ever thought possible! LMBO Girl, you know I am just playing. 😜 Keep hope alive sista’. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

  2. Youtube or any platform where you can disable comments would work! and if someone wants to leave a comment they have to first be approved… Nevertheless, as the saying goes, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water… Keep your motivation, don’t change the go, and never settle… you got what it takes and there is a space for you!

    1. That’s a great idea!! Disable comments or go through the approval process. That’s perfect.
Thank you for the encouragement because after I read some of the comments left for me I was feeling some kind of way 🤭

  3. I am not on TikTok, so I cannot offer help with that platform. I can offer this… stay true to yourself, your goals, your mission, your calling, your integrity and I believe the right people will show up. 😄

  4. I think most forms of social media can get bad really quickly, because people are weird. Take my very generic and utterly boring insta account where I never post pictures of me. I get all sorts of random people thinking it’s some sort of introduction to dating. While people who post (mainly) have simple reasons for doing so, other lookers and lurkers do not… I wish I had practical advice

  7. I have no clue how to market my message or reach new people. I’ve been trying new forms of social media all year and to no avail. I wish I knew how to get an authentic message out to the public without the sharks circling? When you figure it out, let me know! Hugs, C

  8. I’ve avoided Tick-tock. The last thing I need is one more social media account that does nothing for me. I can’t give you a single suggestion on that platform.
