Look After Yourself Friday

Well, looky, we made it to the end of another work week, and now it’s time to get cozy and listen to my podcast.

But before you do that, I would love to know what you are doing today to look after yourself. Fridays are so exciting when they come bursting through the door, full of possibilities and lots of good memories ready to be made.

How I’m Looking After Myself Today

We will kick off the weekend with pizza, wine, and a movie tonight. Tomorrow, my husband and I are having dinner with a few of his colleagues and enjoy adult conversation. I’m hoping we all agree on a place that’s somewhat close to our house so we won’t have a long drive home.

But you know what?

Now that I think about it, it’s time for me to step outside my comfort zone and venture out a little bit more than I’m used to. However, in my defense, after almost 21 years, I’m not used to having a social life.

And let me tell you, I am so grateful that I’ve reached this point in my life, and I’m finally able to move away from my little bubble and meet people who mesh pretty well with me.

Year after year I put mysellf in the position of meeting one too many people that were broke in one form or another. And being around them put me in a place I fought like hell to escape. Let me be clear: I have some pretty amazing people in my life, and I’m grateful for them, but I’m ready to add to that fantastic list.

So this weekend, I’m also looking after myself by being more conscious of the people I invite into my life. This conversation brings me to my podcast. This week’s topic is: When you hang around four broke people, you will be the fifth.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  2. There you go, Queen B. When you’re digging for the truth, as you said, “When you hang around four broke people, you will be the fifth.” In order to fix ourselves, we got to readjust our “broke” situation. Yep, yep! Good episode ladybug!!! 🥰🎤🌞

  3. ” If you hang around 4 broke people you will be the 5th! ”
That statement just jumps out of the page at me, because I grew up with a mother who suffered from depression. She just hung around with likeminded people, and they just fed off each others negativity.

  4. I totally agree with you Belladonna, I don’t have time for a lot of drama in my life, or chaos. I want to explore the world, meet new people, and do the things I’ve been waiting my whole life to do. We can invite or avoid negative influences! Love this post. I’m going to get a coffee and listen to your podcast! Hugs, C
