Look After Yourself

Happy Friday!

Hey, I’m curious: what’s everyone doing to take care of themselves this weekend?

This weekend, I will be intentionally protecting my peace. Last weekend, I was all over the place with my emotions, and centering myself was of the utmost importance.

So, this week, I came to terms with what I need to do to find more peace in my life. Let me explain: all my life, I have been in search of an apology that I was hoping to get; however, at 48, I know that the apology is never coming, and I am beyond okay with that, well, maybe not beyond. But I have forced myself to be okay with it. I share this because we all have our emotional journeys, and it’s important to know that we’re not alone in this.

This journey of self-discovery has been incredibly inspiring and enlightening. It’s shown me that there’s always room for growth and that self-care is a powerful tool for personal development.

Stay tuned to find out what I did to create the peace that I needed. However, in the meantime, check out a few ways to find the peace that you need.

  1. Ok, that meme. 🤷‍♀️

I’m going to go with the flow this weekend because we have not one thing planned. Our relatives are out of town and e couldn’t go with because we have ‘so much work to do’ but I’m betting not one thing gets done until next week. Whatever. So let come what may!! Maybe I’ll get a nice surprise and the weekend will be fabulous. 🙏

  2. I’m just burned out, and yeah I need t do that…and my wish has caused a war with a sister….yes, my dad’s still in hospital, mom’s slowly loosing her mind, and I do what and everything I can, but as soon as I reached out for advise, maybe some support, I was quickly told that my life isn’t worth spit…..I’m doing my best, but that was one shot I didn’t need.

  3. This is powerful and deeply relatable. Accepting the apology that never comes is a quiet act of strength, and choosing peace is a brave step. Thank you for sharing your journey—it’s a reminder that healing isn’t always tidy, but it is possible.

  4. Hello. I love your check ins. I decided to stay home this Momerial weekend. In addition I took Tuesday off extending my down time. Much needed cleaning of the house and sleep. Today, self care with a pedicure and manicure, good meal and quiet time. 🥰
