And I love that for YOU!

Thanksgiving is a time for personal food choices. Whether you prefer raisins in your potato salad or any other dish, it’s your plate and your call.

I love that you love those raisins, I love that for you!

Your unique food choices are what make you, you. And I’m here to celebrate that diversity with you!

If you wash your greens in the bathtub, go right ahead. I love that for you; it’s a unique twist that always brings a smile to my face. Just don’t invite me over to eat because that’s gross. But hey, I love that for you.

Daily writing prompt
Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

I don’t know if I make any special dishes, but I make a lot of dishes, and we eat and celebrate all day. Our food is a special part of the day, but definitely not the most important. Being with my family is priceless, and I love every minute of it.

What’s funny is that everything we cook on Thanksgiving is, for the most part, your typical dish, but the desserts are my favorite!

Desserts I’m Making This Year

Every year, I switch it up and make two different desserts from the previous year. This year, I’ll make my sweet potato pie with homemade whipped cream and dark, decadent chocolate cake served with vanilla bean ice cream.

Your turn!

I would love for you to share your go-to dish!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. my mom in-law used to make this carrrot turnip thing that I could not stand..but because my wife’s mom, I always ate at least a small spoonful…and now just because my wife knows how much I hate it, she makes it especially for me for every occasion…so, yep I will see it this Christmas, and yes, it was on the table to Canadian Thanksgiving……oh joy

  2. Haha, maybe it is not a bathtub, maybe it is a veggie tub 😉

In Germany, thanksgiving is more of a church holiday than a national holiday, this year it was on 24 October. People bring food offerings to church, which afterwards often are distributed to families in need.

In Denmark it is held at the end of August, but not on the same day all over the country. It is more about eating good food than thanking God though. In both countries straw is being used for decorations.

I wish a good Thanksgiving for you and your family! 🙂 ❤

  3. I’m finishing up with the meal now: smothered turkey wings, Jasmine rice, macaroni-n-cheese, and steamed cabbage with onions & tomatoes.

I’m not a big sweets person, so no sweets/desserts for me. Lol.

I may pick up some caramel peach cobbler & vanilla ice cream from one of my favorite spots tomorrow.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
