One Line Is All I GOT

Today, my one line is a question.

How do birthdays make you feel?

  1. As of my current age, 44, birthdays make me feel incredibly blessed. A lot of my peers and childhood friends will never get the chance to see this age.

I enjoy every new year I’m given. 🙏🏾💙

  2. I often have to be reminded that I have one coming up. I have an unconventional disinterest in my own. Not avoidance, just plain disinterest.

I also sometimes have to think about what year it is before answering someone when they ask how old I am.

      1. You have the right idea though and you have changed the way I see aging. Who cares… and forgetting about your ge clears your mind from such unwanted BS! I really love this approach.

  3. I like birthdays because I take the time to be grateful for all the years that I’ve been able to have. But they also feel so hectic that they’re hard to enjoy because we have 4 family birthdays all in a week.

  4. Like most days, they make me feel grateful for another sunrise. My last one made me feel like a pearly goddess because that was the theme of my 55th birthday dancey gathering. 💃🏼 🙌🏻

      1. I don’t feel sad, for me it is more a day like any other day. More like nowadays every day is a new birth, something like that. The day with the certain date has lost its importance to me. It is not sad, it is just a fact.

  6. Fortunate. After a friend of mine died at 36 years old of melanoma, my perspective shifted. It’s not to say that I’m always excited to be getting older, but it is a privilege denied to many. It’s a blessing to see another birthday.

      1. Yes, I agree. Difficult to see the changes. On the other hand, as I get older, I look more like my mother who I miss every day, so when I look in the mirror, I can see her. I don’t think I would ever alter my face to try to look younger, I’m just gonna stay being me and being grateful for birthdays. 😊

      2. I was just telling the hairstylist yesterday that I won’t alter my face in anyway as I get older. I need my WTF line between my brows. I use it frequently. 😂

  8. I am always grateful for completing another 365 days and look forward to a vacation day off, I don’t work on my birthday, a day at the spa and am treated to a wonderful family dinner. These are my interests as age is just a number to me. Meanwhile, my focus is on physical and mental wellness.

  9. Birthdays make me feel incredibly blessed. They are a special reminder of the love and support from family and friends, and an opportunity to reflect on the past year while looking forward to the future. Each birthday is a celebration of life, growth, and the countless blessings received along the way.

  11. Like a goldfish. With social media and my large group of friends, family, and colleagues, I get heaps of attention on my birthday. While lovey and appreciated, it’s A LOT to bear in a single day and I end up feeling exhausted after interacting with everyone.

Generally though, birthdays (and getting older) don’t phase me. I’m always glad to have celebrated another one.
