Why do so many people think starvation or eating salads is the only way to lose weight?
I am here to tell you that that is incorrect information. And if anyone tells you that, please slap them and then slap them again for me. From here on out, I will be posting meals that are easy to make. They will all be so easy that a two-year-old could prepare the meals. Well, maybe a three old!
How can food help you lose weight?
If you are eating the right amount of carbs and protein, you will have the energy and drive to sweat. Everyone is different, and food may affect your system differently than your best friend, sister, mother, brother, auntie, or whomever else. So take time to learn your body. I’m not a nutritionist; therefore, I can tell you what to eat, but I will give you suggestions.
Foods you should eat sparingly
- Chocolate
- Bread
- Salt
- Fast Food
- Refined Carbohydrates
- High Fat Processed Foods
These are just a few but let’s focus on what you should eat.
Foods you should incorporate into your DIET
- Chicken Thighs/Breast
- Fish
- Potatoes
- Rice
- Spinach
- Raspberries
- Blue Berries
- Carrots
- Green, Red, Orange Peppers
- Green Veggies
- WATER WATER WATER
Once again, I could go on and on, but here are the basics.
Meal of the day: Honey Barbecue Chicken Breast served over Coconut Rice
Items needed
- 4 Chicken Breast
- Honey Barbecue Sauce
- 1 Green Peppers
- 1 Red Peppers
- One onion
- 3 Carrots (I used purple, yellow, and orange because they are sweeter than just orange carrots)
- Coconut Milk
- Rice
- Water
- Add any Herbs (mine are fresh from the garden)
Let’s Cook It up
- Clean chicken, slice in half
- Season salt and pepper on both sides
- Cook for 5 minutes on medium heat and flip for 5 more minutes
- Add sliced veggies and herbs, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes
- Drizzle Honey barbecue sauce on top and cover for 10 minutes

Belladonna’s Flashlight
Prep Coconut Rice
- 2 Cups rice, 1 can coconut milk, and 1/2 cup water.
If you don’t have a rice cooker, I urge you to get one.
Serve warm, and enjoy. Cheers to healthy and clean eating!

Mmm, pretty good advice! I bet coconut milk would make some tasty cauliflower rice too! I usually replace rice and potatoes with another veggie, except for sweet potatoes (I have a weakness). Parsnips make great fries, for example (so do sweet potatoes), and zucchini spiralized is my spaghetti ☺️

Oh yummmm Kim!!! That sounds fantastic, I use cauliflower and jasmine rice as well. Sweet potato fries are sent from heaven 🙌🏽😍
Please share your zucchini pasta recipe and pics. I’ve been meaning to try that.

No recipes needed really, spiralize your zucchini and squeeze out the moisture, then add your preferred sauce!

This is such good and wise advice! So many people try and starve themselves and it just doesn’t work. This minute you go back to your old patterns you gain the weight back. Making better choices is such a better plan. BTW the chicken looks delicious. Hugs, C

Ok, now I’m ravenous so thanks. Your non-nutrionist list is spot on. Especially about water. And vegetables. And fruits.

That looks so good! I think losing weight in a healthy way has so much to do with what you eat and eating healthy rather than starving yourself.

Yes with starving yourself you’ll lose muscle mass and energy. Terrible way to go.

Excellent advice!
You don’t need to starve yourself to look slim. You should eat more high-fiber and high-protein foods.
High-fiber foods, such as vegetables and fruit, are filling, so they prevent hunger and help you eat fewer portions. Plus, high-protein foods, such as lean meats and fish, are also filling, so they prevent overeating.
By eating healthy foods and moving your body, you will maintain a beautiful figure.
