We all have our favorite seasons, and that one season that gives us the icks!
The arrival of Fall always seems to throw me off balance, and I’m certain many of you can empathize with this struggle. Despite my earnest attempts to maintain a healthy lifestyle and find solace in my faith, this season holds a unique sway over me. My sleep patterns are disrupted, leaving me feeling irritable and ready to ‘step on necks ‘.
Perhaps, in a lighthearted way, I should dub this period my ‘steppin’ on necks season. ‘

Life is rough, and one major crisis can have us throwing away the whole season for the rest of our lives. No questions are asked; just throw away the season and look forward to the next.
But think about how much time we are losing if we continue to do that for the rest of our lives. Life is already as shorter than we would like, and here we are making it shorter by not loving and respecting either a whole season or part of it.
We don’t have days to waste!
We live in a world of folks who would love for you to bend their ear. If you don’t have that person, you do now. Remember, seeking support is not a sign of weakness, but a brave step towards better mental health.
The significance of mental health evaluations is often overlooked until we see the effects that they can cause. Constantly feeling depressed or down and not being able to put your finger on the cause is real and affects 280 million people worldwide. And a whopping 39% of those suffer in silence. That’s not okay!
So today, tomorrow, and forever, I’ll ask everyone that I come into contact with…How are you?

Wishing you all a beautiful summer!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
~Bella~

🤍 I could be better. The intense summer heat has arrived about 3 weeks earlier than usual [the new normal?] and I’m getting to my cranky summer stage starting in June instead of July. Too. darned. hot.

I’m with Ally. This hotter than Hades, highly humid, life-sucking weather is unpleasant at worst. It’s too hot for June!

🧡 I’m having a hard time. It’s been draining mentally, emotionally, and physically. I’m getting over a head cold (slowly) and people in general have been annoying me. I don’t have the patience to deal with anyone let alone chores, etc. Every day there’s bills and expenses for things and I’m not working that much. I’m feeling the pinch when it comes to the costs of living and it’s making me crabby. It rains almost every day here and we have rain clouds all the time. Its also abnormally cold for June. I haven’t seen the sun in a while.

Hilary I’m so sorry!!!! I’m praying for you. I know things are tight for you right now but please do something that is just for you. And it doesn’t have to cost a thing.
When it rains a lot my mood goes right in the tank, I need sunshine to pull me out as well.
Please keep me posted on how things are going for you.

I look for the positives in every season, and I don’t mind the heat of summer, even though lately, the intense heat scares me a bit….how hot will it get?…..when in school, I loved fall, getting back with people and friends….spring, I loved that feel, the smells, and winter, love snow and skiing, tobogganing….Christmas, Thanksgiving….and all 4 seasons involves lots of friends, so all good active and social

✨ Actually now that I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding a resolve in my chronic back pain, Hope is beginning to rise, things are in check and I am anticipating the day I can finally go from a 24/7 level 10 pain to possibly a level 5.
I went to my PCP yesterday and we discussed how this every day agonizing chronic pain is affecting my mental health as well as my emotional health. So he put some things in place to help get me temporarily out of pain until I can meet with the pain specialist. I’m currently on steroids to bring down the inflammation and swelling in my lower back. Today is the second day of my zpack which I’m seeing a slow decline in my chronic back pain which is helping my mental health.
No one has any idea how chronic pain can affect a person’s mental health or state of mind that leaves them feeling cut off from society and being home bound, unless they themselves suffer with it on a daily basis.

I’m so sorry!!!!! This broke my heart and I wish we could pray together. I lived with migraines for YEARS and no one knew why. You definitely do feel cut off from the world.
I pray that your pain decreases and your joy rises this year. Please keep me posted 💖💖

Thank you so much sweetheart. I truly appreciate your kind and encouraging words as well as your continued support. I also wish we could pray together. Where there are two or more gathered, there God will be. 🙏✨💕🤗
I hope you aren’t still suffering from migraines. Those are horrible. I have had my bouts of horrible migraines. I literally felt like my head was going to explode. My doctor still doesn’t know what caused my migraines, even after doing a brain scan and numerous of tests.

✨This is an excellent post. I agree that we as a society need to take mental health far more seriously than we do currently. I know what it’s like to struggle, but I also know there is hope and there are resources out there if we are willing to reach out. Thank you for your insight.

Great idea for people to share how they are feeling and to not feel so alone in their thoughts. Some days are better than others for me. Usually as the day progresses my mood starts to slip

Hi there, i really liked your article. Firstly, asking each other how we are doing, really asking and hopefully get an honest answer, could probably change the world. As for struggles with seasons, i totally agree with you that throwing away one season is not the way to go. I also struggle with fall – what helped me is to start on rituals, e.g. as soon as i notice it gets to me that it there is less daylight, i start to light candles during the dark hours. Another thing is, treating me to a nice bubble bath, at leats once a week. I try to focus on the little things that are nice about fall – teas, my cats fur getting thicker, nice outfits 😜 and i found out that this really helps me getting through this season ✨
