Are you banging on the door

What will happen if you keep banging on the door that you so desperately want to open?

Well, I’ll tell you what will happen. The door will either open or come crashing to the ground. Either way, you will find yourself on the other side of it.

Way too often, we give up when we don’t get what we want right away. We let defeat kick in, and we walk away full of excuses. Unfortunately, those excuses will only suffice for a short while. Eventually, you will start to believe the lies you’re telling yourself. Desperation is absolute, and you will come face to face with it when you try to make yourself come to peace with quitting.

Quitting is easy and filling your head with untruths is even easier! 

Short Story

The other day I woke up, and for the first time in years, I was able to jump out of bed, landed flat on my feet, and skip out of my room, ready to tackle my day. When I tell you, I jumped and skipped… I did just that. 

I then opened up my laptop and applied for a job that I felt was out of my league. It’s something that I told myself I didn’t want to do, but tI only said that because I thought it was out of my reach. The idea of doing something in Advertising and Marketing is a dream of mine. And, quite frankly, a dream that I was scared to have at this stage in my life.

As I fixed my resume, negative thoughts flooded my brain, but I didn’t give in to them THIS time, and I never will again!

Will I get the job? I don’t know, and I don’t care. I didn’t let fear win; therefore, I won.

So this post is for all of ya’ll out here that have just tucked fear into its long-awaited coffin. It’s time to start banging on the doors you’re trying to open, and sometimes banging isn’t enough, so…KICK THAT BITCH IN!

    I too am applying for something which isn’t really out of my league. I’m better than them.
    But popular narrative says that such positions are political etc etc.
    Your words have reiterated my faith.

  4. I love this message and I hope you get the job 😂 . It takes guts to just do it and most are so scared but what do you have to lose right?! Absolutely nothing 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

  7. Nice front kick, also as a side note, last time I banged on a door, I got arrested for disturbing the peace. It was the house of a guy that claimed he was dating my 12 yr old step daughter at the time, he also had a bad habit of punching her in the face. Took a while for her to tell me what had happened and had gone there to talk to his mother(he was 17). Come to find out they were informants for the local police and was working a big drug bust, so he was untouchable and I went to jail. SMH
