Look After Yourself Friday

We have hit the trail running!

Well, maybe some of us are walking, or hell, perhaps you are crawling. But you know what? It doesn’t matter how you get to the finish line; just get there.

We have 31 days to make magic happen, but ya got to stick to the goals you committed to. NO EXCUSES

One of the things that has always been difficult for me to listen to is a bunch of complaining. Most of the problems we have, we can fix them. There are illnesses or deaths of loved ones that we can’t control, but for the things that we can change or control, then we should.

Making excuses will only hold you back and prevent you from entering 2024 as your best self.

Repeat After Me: Over the next 31 days, I will not make excuses; I will get shit done. Even on my bad days, I will get shit done

Look After Yourself Friday

Today is December 1st and it’s FRIDAY! Today, we can choose how we are going to look after ourselves and kick off December on a great note.

How lucky are we?

So, today, I choose to look after myself by reading and writing A LOT. I’ll take a break and bake chocolate chip cookies and then end my note with a cheesy Christmas movie (the cheesier, the better).

I would love to know what y’all are doing to look after yourself today and/or this weekend.

Whatever you plan on doing, make sure you are doing something for yourself and constantly check on your mental health. The holiday season can be a lot on everyone, so making sure you are balanced and equipped to handle all that it entails will make you better off.

Wishing all my beautiful blogging family a HAPPY FRIDAY. Stay warm and cozy!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Lord Queen B, I love your energy and motivation. But honey, it’s Friday night here, so it’s popcorn, a crazy movie and then checking out my man Guy Fieri’s latest episode on Food Network! And THAT sistah, is how I am looking after myself for today, the weekend, and the rest of next week! 😂😜🤣 LOL Love ya! Hugs and smooches! 🥰💖😘

      1. Girlfriend I hope your weekend was FAB! I did a lot of chilling out and a little cleaning up. But I did catch up on some basketball games that my alma mater was playing… my Lady Gamecocks and they tore it up! 🏀🏀🏀 They are doing better than the guys! Not surprising though! Smooches! 😘

  3. watching an old peter gabrial concert on youtube…today was just doing..instead of thinking about doing…..finishing up the 1st season of GoT tonight, paying more attention…and day 1 of 31 not watching any 24 hour news channel, and staying away from newspapers…am guessing that’ll help the mental health….oh yeah, and organizing a lot of runs this month….

    1. Staying away form news channels is so helpful for protecting your mental health. I have stayed away for a couple of days and I don’t feel stressed out.

  5. I’m late to the party 😉 But yesterday, I took a 9K+ step walk, while listening to a book I had put aside for months. I worked from home – something I rarely get the chance to do (but will do more); I had my son’s leftover carbonara pasta (so. damn. good) and I had my date night. Today, I gave myself a swift kick in the behind and went for a 22-minute run/walk in the west snow. I stacked some wood in my garage in preparation of the cold days coming mid-week, I made a delicious veggie soup and, to be honest, I did SFA (Sweet Fuck All) the rest of the day. Now? Imma watch some sappy Christmas movie to cap off the day!!

      1. I was! Couldn’t convince myself yesterday until last night – walked in a fairy land of snow for about 30 minutes last night. It was gorgeous. And I figured between that and shovelling snow twice – it would suffice as a workout! I shovelled again this morning and will when I get home… oh joy, oh bliss…
