What’s your Favorite Thanksgiving Dish?

Happy Tuesday, My Beautiful People!

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I know we are looking forward to that one dish that we can’t get enough of.

I would love to know which dish is your favorite.

Please come back tomorrow so you can get one of my favorite recipes, Collard Greens.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. We Canadians had our Thanksgiving last month and we are not into the yams and green bean casseroles and collard greens like you guys are. That said, I do love me a nice juicy turkey with gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes and peas (weirdly, we were raised on canned peas and I need to have them at this time!)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Bella.

  2. My family’s tradition is to make a meat dressing instead of a bread dressing for the turkey stuffing. I’ve never seen anyone else do anything quite like it — a mixture of ground pork (alternately: ground lamb) and beef with allspice, clove, heavy pepper and a bit of dried bread. There may be a few other ingredients, but I think those are the primary ones.

It is an acquired taste. Most family members don’t care for the flavor until their adults. Some never take to it. Which is fine — there’s more for me. But I didn’t develop a taste until around 21 years old.

It is either from my Swedish ancestors or my Acadian/Canadian ancestors (Acadians are precursors to Cajuns), and I lean more towards the latter as being the source of the recipe. It’s been in the family for at least a hundred years.
