Put your body to work….skip the surgeries!
A few weeks ago, I wrote a post that touched on “Botched,” one of my favorite shows. I’m beyond hooked and happy that I stumbled upon this show.
A few years ago, I was unsatisfied with my body. I thought my gluteus maximus was too big, my breast too small, waist not narrow enough, and while we’re at it, let’s throw in the want to have a flatter stomach. But honey chile, after watching this show I have changed my mind.
How many of you are guilty of thinking that a simple surgery will make you happy and solve all your problems?
If you said yes, then you aren’t alone. However, ask yourself this.
Would you commit to having surgery knowing that you would then have to have several more to fix whatever that doctor botched up?
Our bodies can only take so much, and having surgery after surgery isn’t a safe way to go. Why put your body through unnecessary trauma. Yes, sure, many surgeries go well, but thousands upon thousands don’t go smoothly. And if you happen to catch a couple of episodes of Botched, you’ll see what I mean.
Women and Men appear on Botched because the majority of them were chasing after one thing. They are trying to look good!
I understand their desperation to look good and willingness to put their body through hell and back to get what they want. However, I see now that going under the knife isn’t the way to go. And I’m glad it didn’t take me having a botched-up surgery to get to this point.
I like so many others, want to look BUT above all I want to feel good!
When we seek to look good, we forget about the feeling good part. Ughhhhh, I’m not too fond of that because feeling good means we are eating well, getting enough sleep, drinking water, and taking care of our cardiovascular system. We are pushing our bodies to be strong. And in return, we will live longer, healthier lives. The need to look good sometimes means we are making our body SUFFER so we can be a particular size.
I use to work out to look good and seek to have surgeries to assist me. However, the satisfaction I get from putting work in is unmeasurable. I smile every time I bite into my sweet potato, steak, chicken, fish, bison, spinach, and a plethora of other goodies because I know I’m getting strong. With every bite, I’m healing the body I put through hell and back while searching for skinny and not strength.
Cheers to a new day and hopes that more folks will see; STRENGTH OUT “WEIGHS” THE NEED TO BE SKINNY!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I really enjoy watching Botched, too, but wonder why some of the would be patients are referred to a psychiatrist before altering their body. When I was about 40. I weighed 200 lbs – it took years of hard work to get slimmer and fitter.

Yup, never ever go under the knife unless needed.. it’s called a medical “practice” for a reason.. ive never went under the knife for “body modification” but have had my knee worked on as well as have things removed that wasnt supposed to be there, and those body parts have lots of pain now as well as never healed the way they should have due to scar tissue ect.

I know what you mean. I have scar tissue as well. Never will I ever have surgery o something just because of chasing what society view as beautiful.

Yeah no kidding. I mean since the deal with my knee, sometimes i have good days with it, others not so much. Kinda been kicking myself for not going ahead and taking that disability claim but i wanted to work not be a sponge.

Kinda did quit working and doing a handyman service which has been super slow as of late.. this cold snap that came through friday though has wrecked havok this week.. but no worries, thats kinda why I opened my store to try and still be doing something and have income.. my advice, never let the world get ya down, people dont like things and thata thier problem not yours so dont try and impress them with your looks when all youre doing is hurting yourself.

Genius idea to have an indoor business during the cold months.
Yes, I agree when we focus on what evryone else likes and try to change we lose who we are and lose our joy.

I agree with your point that working out for strength is more important than working out for skinny. Strength is what will help us live longer, healthier lives. It’s also what will give us the confidence to live our lives to the fullest.
