MILLIONS of women are waiting to buy the dress and eat the cake!
Why do we do this to ourselves? Millions of men also wait to buy those shorts, pants, and shirts they are eyeballing. So this message is for you, too.
There has to come a time in our life that we decide to love who we are at this very moment. Embracing and loving what we see in the mirror is crucial for our mental health. And the longer we criticize ourselves about every flaw, the longer we will remain our lesser selves.
Imaging saying
Imagine how much better you would be if you woke up and said, “I love me just as I am; I will not put conditions on the love I show myself. We hold the power to have a good or bad day. It all begins with how we approach the start of our day.
How many times have you said, “I’ll buy that dress when I lose ten more pounds”?
I have said it more times than I like to admit. And instead of buying that beautiful dress, I settled for something old and dusty in my closet. I didn’t feel like my body deserved to be celebrated or rewarded with something new. Therefore, I settled and was miserable with my choice.
Unlearning Insane Behavior
For whatever insane reason, the belief that we reward only comes after a certain amount of weight is lost. And if that weight never diminishes, we regret or refuse to eat the cake and refuse to buy the dress.
Screw that!
Find the attire that makes you feel like a million bucks today and own it. When you feel good, you make better life decisions. Which will increase your chances of fitting that dress you’re eyeing one day. Preventing yourself from enjoying that delicious slice of cake can lead to overeating and gaining even more weight. And there you are, still putting your happiness on hold!
Stop it! Eat the cake! Buy the dress!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

I’m one of those that says that, cause I don’t like what I see in the mirror. But I should stop it for the moment and get back to fitness when we get back to our normal life. Your cake looks delish, btw!

The idea that we must meet certain criteria before we “deserve” to feel good about ourselves is not only destructive but also counterproductive to our mental and emotional well-being. Thank you for initiating this important conversation…

Oh my goodness, but I think you wrote this for me. lol Every word speaks to me in a big way, and I agree with you 100%. It makes so much more sense that if we accept who we are, wear what we love, we’ll make better decisions. The more you deprive yourself of that cake, the more you miss it and want it, too. 🤍🌺 Thank you for another great message!

It breaks my heart to think of how many times I’ve said “I’ll buy that dress when I lose ten more pounds” to myself. Now, as an adult I know it’s not about never enjoying that cake or occasional treat. It’s all about balance.

Getting fit isn’t simply about weight loss. That is a bonus, but it is about health. Buy the dress. Eat the cake. Keep working toward increasing your health. Everything in moderation.

Excellent advice. I think we’re all too hard on ourselves, wanting to be perfect– which you can’t be, but by waiting/denying ourselves we think we will be if we only try harder.
