Do you think we all do things that we try to hide from others?
I must say I personally have things that I like to keep hush-hush. But tonight, I’m going to spill it all!
Maybe it’s the moonlight that has me in a confession mood, or perhaps I need to get this off my chest so I can be free from the horror. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit dramatic. It’s not horror, but some may think it’s horrible.
First things first!
I hate being around violent people and loud, rude, obnoxious ones as well. But I have to tell you, there is something addicting about listening about them and all of their crimes.
This prompt is making me come clean to y’all tonight!
How it started
About three years ago, my niece told me about a true crime series on YouTube. Well, the actual name of the channel is “Murder Mystery and Makeup,” hosted by Bailey Sarian.
She goes into detail about these sick twisted murderers and all of their innocent victims. When I first started to listen, I was in disbelief that folks could be so damn evil, but then my shock wore off. And once it did, my surprise turned into more of a let me listen to this so I can be a little more apprehensive about people and not so daman trusting.
But more importantly, I needed to pass this new information on to my kids, so they won’t allow strangers to get in their car because they look normal. Crazy can hide behind normal, so pay attention to red flags as much as possible.
So yes, I confess I am now an avid listener to crime while I work, bathe and put on makeup. I need to stay in the know, so I am now not only listening to Bailey but a few other murder mysteries and police investigations.
Don’t Judge ME!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Very interesting, dearest Bella. I think we share similar views on crime and violence. I despise violence in any form but read about the ever increasing spate of violence against all humans, especially women and children. It’s better to have knowledge than live in ignorance. Excellent post, dear. ❤❤❤❤

I watch YouTube videos about how people died. Best decision ever. I am more careful how I do things so I don’t perish from a silly mistake (slipping and falling), I’ve learned to identify potential hazards and dangers, as well as survival techniques.

I work in IT for the prosecuting attorney so I listen to true crime all day whether I want to or not 😅 In my leisure time it’s the last thing I want to hear about but I get why it’s addicting for people. It’s fascinating to wonder how some people can do what they do and what made them that way. It’s not something we think about in my profession because it’s not our job to understand criminals, but it is important to prevent it in others.

I don’t blame you, it would be the last thing I would wnnt to hear too. But some of these cries could have been prevented if they knew better. Being mindful of your surroundings is important. I once had someone follow me home and because I’m mindful of what’s going on I led him right to the police department and he took off.

That was smart! I don’t know if I’d think to do that in the moment. I’ve been robbed at gunpoint a few times and all I thought was “well I hope he aims higher if he’s going to shoot me” 😅

How can I judge when I’m addicted to crime shows on tv myself! ID is one of my favorite channels with shows like “I Survived” and “Murder Comes to Town” and so many others. Police shows, crime mysteries, etc. make up the bulk of what I watch. Sometimes I just need a comedy or romance to break up all that evil!

I switch over to corny romcoms so I can believe that there is still love and happiness in this world 😫
I usually turn down my phone or tv when my family is around because I know they don’t want to hear about crime all the time.

Haha! I got hooked on true crime podcasts a few years ago, and was listening to My Favorite Murder, regularly, along with a few others. That habit has faded, mostly because I don’t drive as far to work, any more. But I still find true crime fascinating. It’s a lot like that train wreck that you can’t NOT look at.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jeff that exactly it! It’s so hard to look away because it’s so horrific but I have to see it through. When I first start listening I was super paranoid it then it grew more into me wanting to share this info to my teenagers. They can be so naive and think everyone is so loving and caring.
