I am so tired of being CHEAP!
Now let me explain when it comes to kids, I spend. They walk around looking like they have a 9 to 5, and I’m the servant girl begging for rags. Okay, that’s extreme but not too far from the truth.
I’m a couponer who loves a good deal; I like fantastic family vacations, but I used to struggle with buying myself nice things. Notice I said I USED to. Tomorrow isn’t. promised to anyone, so you have to live now!
Saving Before You Spend
Before you spend, make sure you have six months to a year’s worth of living expenses in the bank or wherever you save your money.
If you have to work two jobs and clip coupons, do it.
If you have to cook more and go out less, do it.
If you have to shop at the thrift store (love that), do it
If you have to get rid of all the extras, do it
If you have to stop keeping up with the Jones, do it
Short-term savings are worth it in the long term!
Spend and Enjoy Life
It is impossible to know when your last day on this earth will be, so you have to start living now. If there is a place that offers you relaxation and peace, then you need to GO and go often. The other day I promised myself that I would look after myself by ending my cheap streak on me.
My mission is to make the most of my time here while I can. To me, that means Work Hard and Play Hard.
I would love to know what y’all plan to do to look after yourself this weekend.
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

a commitment I made when I retired was to do stuff. I know too many others that retired, sat and watch TV, ate and drank and died…so active, appreciate what and whom I have….and enjoy life, stay positive and connected, and as for money, well, money can’t buy you love?

I do watch what I spend and on what. But I maintain a balance.

My mom always said you get what you pay for and I have to agree. When I spend a little more and buy something of quality, it lasts, and I’m happier with the purchase. Hugs, C

Great Advice!! We are too poor to do anything like go on vacations, let alone go on date nights. So our days and nights consist of staying home in front of the tv or being on our phones 🥺 I live a very boring life. Yes granted there are things we can do that don’t cost a penny but the Fam never wants to. Neither does the hubby. 🥺🥺
