These are the luckiest people

Some sayings I will never forget.

My grandparents were full of knowledge and charm. They both said things I will remember for the rest of my life. Some of their sayings may have taken me years to realize what they meant, but once I got it…I got it!

One saying, in particular, was deeply rooted from her childhood. From my understanding, she was the only child and didn’t have a stable home. I’m not sure of all the details surrounding her childhood, but I am sure that she never felt love, or it may be more accurate to say she didn’t have unconditional love.

My main focus here is on unconditional love.

Not many of us have that or even know what that feels like. My grandmother being one of those people. So when she had grandchildren, she gave us all the love she once longed for.

Her Hugs

I will forever remember her hugs; they were tight…oh so freakin tight, and they lasted what felt like an eternity—however, no matter the length, we all knew better than to end the hug first

So when we went to her house for one of her AMAZING dinners, we knew that before we could get to the meal, we had to get hugged to death, practically pass out and then eat. But it was worth it; she cooked with her entire heart and soul.

But what I remember most about her dinners is when she would get teary-eyed as we were eating and she would say, “we are all so lucky to have each other; people who have people are the luckiest people.”

It feels so good to say that!

The more I say it, the more I love it. I feel like the richest person in the world because I have people that LOVe me UNconDITIONally, and I them. And that’s something money can’t buy.

I just returned home after spending four beautiful days with the people I love more than anything in this world! As I looked at them this weekend, my heart would smile, and all I could think was:

People who have people are the luckiest people

People who have people are the luckiest people

People who have people are the luckiest people

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Girl Belladonna, the one thing my mother always told me was that you can pick your friends, but God gives you your family. Hugging is a natural thing for me and that is something we always did and some still do. You almost have to force the youngin’s to do it, however, because some of them don’t get the bond hugs bring. Oh how I LOVE great hugs! 🤗💖🤗💖🤗💖🤗 Sending you a truckload of cyber hugs girlfriend.

    1. Sometimes I wonder about some of these family members God gave me! LOLOLOL

I’m a huge hugger too Kym. There is nothing like getting a hug that you can feel in your soul.
      Hugging you right back!!!

  2. Wow! So beautiful post! You are amazing, full of love, blessed with your wonderful family!
Great share! Thank’s a lot, Belladonna, lookiest girl!
    Have a lovely day!

  3. I agree. My grandparents are some of the most cherished people in my life. It’s ironic how you mention that they have unconditional love (the sign for it’s my latest tattoo). I love the message, and look forward to the next one!

  4. This is so niiiice. You’re a lucky person. Unconditional love is a pretty important topic. It’s upsetting how some people don’t understand how important it is to have this kind of love. Everyone loves for a purpose, so finding those people who give just for you is so inspiring. My father was abusive, but I’ve got my mom and bro, united together.

    1. I’m so sorry to hear that! I wonder if your father learned that behavior during his childhood. Not that it makes a difference. Wrong is wrong and that’s that.
So glad you have that live with your mom and brother. Unconditional love can make you feel powerful enough to keep marching forward.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I’m looking forward to chatting with you again. Have a wonderful Wednesday 💜
