Everything happens for a reason…. RIGHT?

Most of the time, I don’t know why God is doing what he’s doing?

I’m clueless and in constant search for answers.

Tonight (and many more nights to come), I had to document what I’m feeling, mostly because I want to look back at this five years from now. Maybe then the answer will be apparent to me. But, as for now, I’m rendered speechless as to how I will deal with my son being so far away from home.

I prayed, and I prayed for God to place my son at a college that he sees fit. And it turns out he will be 14 hours away from me. I’m incredibly proud of my boy, but my heartaches.

I find myself sneaking off to my room so I can let a few tears fall. Then, I piece myself back together and head out with a smile on my face. The one thing I don’t want to be is a party pooper.

My son is beyond excited for this next phase in his life, and the last thing he needs is a cry baby, killing his joy.

God give me strength!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. It’s tough! I felt like a baby when my first went 1.5 hours away… then my second went 7 hours. It’s hard, but you’ll get through it!

  2. Being nosy here, is the bearded guy your hubby or the coach? Your family is so adorable ☺️
I understand your feelings, my youngest is only minutes away and still, I can’t breath if a couple of weeks go by without seeing him! You will find a way to cope, stay strong!

  3. Oh Belladonna, you are in your infancy stage of your baby bird strengthening his wings and flying from the nest. 🦅 Although I don’t have children, all of my friends who do experienced the very same emotional rollercoaster. 😭 You know how you and your husband raised him. 👨‍👩‍👦 Plus you have every right to feel the way that you do. So, he is dipping his toes in the water of life, as will your daughters. But look how proud you are of your children. 🤗😎😊 You’re a mama bear, but you are still in arms reach, even if it is 14 hours away. He knows where to find you if he needs you. Imagine all of the exciting stories he gets to tell you, and that you get to write about! LOL 🥰🤦🏽‍♀️😜💋😍

  4. Oh my friend and sweet Mother – I am with you in this and would feel exactly the same. One of mine is in state, so that is comfortable. Now I will know next year where the other will go – it can be anywhere and that is not going to be easy! I trust for both of us that distance won’t matter …
Much Love and my Best Wishes for your son and family!

I have one in State and it is great. Just thinking about my so leaving makes my heart ache and the tears flow. I don’t know what I’m going to do without seeing his face as often as I like.

  5. He will be fine, I am sure! You are giving your children a safe and loving home as a strong backbone, they will prevail!

But it is hard, I get it, although I never had children of my own. My younger brother was bit like my child though, about him I also worried very much 🙂

      1. uck sorry I meant former!
Yeah he liked it but he wants the opportunity to play in the NFL and that’s not an option anymore if you go there and it just didn’t offer him the football training that he wanted. My boy is on cloud nine where he is now though!
