Don’t shoot my son!
I have a son that is 6’3 and weighs 230 pounds. He likes to work out in our neighborhood and can often be found running/walking our dog.
Don’t shoot my son!
Seeing a male that isn’t white with my son’s stature may strike fear in a fragile, weakened sorry excuse of a man. He might wonder does he belong in this neighborhood, or is he a suspect. With break-ins happening in bad and good communities, one can assume that he is running from something and not because of something.
But that doesn’t give you a right to shoot my son!
On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man, was killed. Two white men, father, and son, took it upon themselves to hop in their pickup with loaded weapons and follow a man that was taking a jog. Ahmaud was an athlete, and running helped him stay in shape.
But running while being black made him look guilty in the eyes of the father and son duo. They figured they would take the law in their own hands and confront Ahmaud by blocking the path of his jog. Then they chose to shoot him before he could take another step.
Ahmaud’s life was stolen from him, but yet the father and son are still free.
I have signed the petition for justice to be served for yet another black man. I urge you all to do the same.
Petition~ Justice for Ahmaud Arbery
On Friday, my son and I will be joining in on the birthday run to honor and celebrate the life of Ahmaud Arbery. You can choose to walk or run your 2.23 miles. Just please choose one and lets rise as a nation and fight for survival, freedom, and the right to run while being black.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

so horrible, I was thinking same things about my bro :(( #irunwithmaud
Right!!! 😥
This was so terrifying. I don’t understand how the people that murdered an innocent man can be free. Can you imagine what would have happened if it had been black men killing a white man?
It took the world to see the video for justice to be served. We shall see how this plays out. It took 2 months for an arrest to made!
Oh if tables were turned he would have been beaten and murdered by the cops
Yeah exactly! It’s crazy it took that long for the arrest. I just hope that he gets justice.
Me too!!! I feel hopeful 💗
