Not just Strong But Haley Strong

The other day, I found myself lost in thoughts about the various battles I’ve faced in life, often against my will. In those moments of struggle, I would often hear people say, “She’s so strong.”

It was a conflicting feeling. I couldn’t help but think, ‘No, I’m not!

I’m the opposite of that, and if I could, I would pull the covers over my head and lie in my bed until I was as good as new. But we can’t do that, can we? Well, I guess we could, but what good would that do?

Although I must admit that I’ve never had to battle something that was trying to take my life, so in comparison, my worries are insignificant.

The other day, I found myself wanting to reach out to someone and tell her how “STRONG” she is, and I immediately stopped myself and thought about what that word meant to me and what the phrase prayed up meant to me.

My Definition of Strong/Strength

Strength can mean both physical power and mental fortitude

Physically, strength refers to the ability to exert force and lift heavy objects.

Mentally, strength can refer to resilience, determination, and the ability to cope with challenges. It can also encompass emotional strength and the ability to withstand difficult situations.

What Prayed Up Means (TO ME)and the Act of

Asking for guidance and strength to carry you through your storm and through all the good times. Through prayer, you know that the blood of Jesus covers you. And with this comes knowing that your situation may not be fair or understood by you, but you know that God is holding your hand through every step of the way.

After pondering over what strength and prayer truly mean to me, I came to a realization. Yes, she is strong. Her strength is not her own, but it comes from the Lord, as she is constantly in prayer.

Alone, we are not strong, but through God, we/ I desire to be Haley Strong.

This is beautifully stated, and true for me, too. I will be sending up plenty of prayers for Haley, her family, and you, too. 🙏🏾💙

  2. I will pray for Haley and her family. I work in oncology and I know triple negative breast cancer is a whole different kind of cancer beast, especially in young women. 🙏♥️
