When I looked at the frustration in her eyes, everything began to make sense. I now know why she aggressively came for me a week prior!
It was around 1 pm on a Saturday. Mother Nature chose to be kind to us that day and bless us with Spring weather. Our basketball team was excited to be together and playing scrimmages today.
In case you don’t know, the purpose of a scrimmage is to allow players to practice and develop their skills. Whether you win or lose, it DOESN’T MATTER. Scrimmage won’t damage or improve your seasonal record.
Now, keep that in mind as I explain what happened next! You can find PART 1 here .
Storytime
As our girls played, there was a man on the other side of the gym. He sat beside the coach of the opposing team. He began to yell to his daughter, “The girl who’s guarding you is trash, and you’re making her look like she knows what she’s doing.”
He proceeded to step as close to the court as he could and yell that once more to his 13, maybe 14-year-old daughter about another 14-year-old child.
The whole crowd was in an uproar; I, for one, was pissed! To be an adult and yell foolishness at your child’s sporting event is ridiculous, stupid, and petty. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t get along with ridiculous, stupid, or petty.
Many parents yelled their frustrations out to him, but I couldn’t tell you what they said because I was too busy expressing my disgust.
As I told him that he was ignorant and needed to shut up, the coach of his daughter’s team pointed at the bench and advised him to sit down or leave.
Unfortunately, he chose to stay, and when he took his seat, his wife, who was sitting with her three small boys, and her daughter, who looked to be around 11 years old, decided to jump up, turn around from the bottom of the bleachers, look up to the top, and scream at the top of her lungs…..
“Bitch I will fuck you up for calling my husband ignorant. He was telling the truth when he said that girl plays like trash; our daughter is better than her”. She proceeded to call me every name but the child of God.
At that point, I knew she was a loose cannon, so I replied, “I said what I said.” I motioned for her to take a seat, and I peacefully watched the game.
The ref walked over to her and told her that she could not say another word!
At the end of the scrimmage, my daughter and all her teammates came rushing towards me and gave me the biggest hug. They said, “We like how chill you are, and you refused to stoop to her level.” The little girl (being talked about by adults) is one of my daughter’s best friends, she gave me the biggest hug and said, thank you for sticking up for me.
When we were heading to our car, my husband walked over so he could be in between us as I walked past her. But if you know me, then you understand that wasn’t going to fly with me. So I gently pushed him in front of me so my arm could be right next to hers as I walked out.
She refused to make eye contact with me, and all of her threats were just that.
When I see her, I see a woman that thinks she’s defeated. I felt her spirit last week and this time, even more so. You see, sometimes we think if we show how loyal we are to someone, they’ll, in return, be loyal to us. Sadly, that doesn’t always happen.
Proving your loyalty should never make you look like a loose cannon… not even for a moment.
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Guuurrrrrlllll…you done good. 🤜🏼🤛🏼 I don’t understand why parents act ballistic during children’s games, as if they were at an NBA or NFL game. But even then, such behavior is unacceptable. Obnoxious folks haven’t met a cannon looser than them yet. People think they can say anything these days and get by with it. I would tread lightly if I were them. Love that you kept your classy composure as you did Queen B! 😎💖🤗

Bad role models. What they say says more about them than their opinion of other people.

They need help. Their hearts aren’t happy and it shows by how they interact with the public. Sad to say this, though, they may not seek it.
Good for you for standing your ground and at the same time, not getting too far outta pocket, Bella!

Girl it takes a lot to make me flip out and never in front of kids. It always surprises me when I see grown people pick on kids. That’s the downside to sports.
Yeah they are to far gone but still hope for the kiddos

I cannot stand those types of parents. They embarrass not only themselves but their child. Always best to play it way cool while they lose their shit.

It is trash to behave like that at a kid’s sporting event. Nothing is that serious, and a scrimmage at that.

Girl!!!!! I’m with you. Never that serious, it’s suppose to be fun and for the kids not the insane acting parents.

Thank you Carol anne! She is the sweetest kiddo and he feelings were so hurt. I’ll never understand why people want to tear other people down, especially a child. I just pray they both allow God to make them better.
