I felt the darkness happening, and it scared the hell out of me.
People, places, and smells can remind me of when I was at my lowest, and no matter how good I feel, I will return to darkness.
So what are you supposed to do to avoid the dark place?
Easy answer…. don’t enter!
When you know something or someone pulls you into the dark, remove it from your life. I know that doesn’t sound easy but ask yourself what matters more..Me or them? Make yourself a priority and live a happy life. No one knows when their life will end, so why waste any time with anything that doesn’t make us feel good.
Being in a spot that makes you feel like the helpless person you used to be will remove years of your life you can’t get back. And in the process of feeling dark, you drag others there with you. So therefore, more time than not, you’re pulling the people into the dark that helped remove you from the tunnel of gloom.
We have to stop dragging people into the tunnel they delivered you from!
Do whatever you have to do to fight the discomfort, the hurt, and the pain, and don’t feel like you have to explain why you removed yourself.
The power of no longer explaining to closed ears is rewarding and will birth a whole new you. How you view, yourself will change instantly because you no longer have to hear how they perceive you or how they want you to perceive you.
For instance, my favorite color is black, but I was told that black represented my dark mood. So I started to wear white, pink, orange, blue, and any other color that expressed bliss, joy, glee, happiness. That is until I realized that it wasn’t the color I chose more than the person or people in my tunnel.
So I removed the people, ran for my life right out the tunnel and slipped on my black!
Hello, darkness, my old friend.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

“No one knows when their life will end…” Exactly, Bella! 💯 Life is too short to be anything but happy and free of drama and other’s darkness. 🕊🦋

This is why I quit dating ~ it’s way too toxic and stressful. The more I forced myself to continue to get over the last bad date, the worse it got. Cheers to us! 💗

Aww I hate to hear that Paula and I hope that the right date comes along soon. I’m helping a close friend of mine find a good date and so far all we have found are men that like to date around or they are work-aholics!

I second that, I hate to hear that Paula.
There’s someone out there. Great things take time.
I tell my clients sometimes you need to date yourself, trust me it sounds crazy but it helps and also works. We need to enjoy ourselves first so, we know what we like and how we should be treated. Give it a try dear.
I’m rooting for you! ❤️🌟
*you are a diamond they can’t break you* 🤗

i wear a lot of black. It goes will with my white hair. It doesn’t make me feel depressed or evil. In fact, I think it is a great power color.

Will remove years from our life that we won’t get back, no longer explaining anything to closed ears will birth a whole new you, who do you choose – me or them – these are such exact markers on this journey of owing and enjoying our own life. Your post says all the right things anyone struggling with this could use and hear. It is not easy, but so worth it, once we breathe the air outside of that tunnel.

Girlfriend you got a lot of chutzpah and you show it! 😘 Age ain’t nothing but a number and colors are a spice of life. The colors don’t define you, unless you allow it to. I find that bright colors bring out my boldness and daringness, but I am the one defining the boldness of those colors. Black for me, depending on what the piece is, is a power color for me. Let’s just simply put it this way Belladonna, you could wear the boldest color around, but if you’re surrounded by depressingly dark people or your environment, then honey chile, it’s time to make some quick and serious changes or deletions. It ain’t the color, it’s the attitude! 🤜🏼🤛🏼❤💜💛🖤💥🧡💙💚

Black was my go to color for years but I started loving earth tones about 15 years ago. Btw, I absolutely agree ” it wasn’t the color I chose more than the person or people in my tunnel. ” Great post, Belladonna 💕

Sometimes you don’t even see the darkness approach, it just happens. The best thing you can do is have a good support network surrounding you, seeing you dip below into the darkness.
LikeLiked by 1 person
And that’s the scary part, it comes without a warning. You’re right a support system is definitely needed!!!

Yeah, for sure. It’s crucial. Sadly, many people don’t.
