What is the best Christmas gift you can give yourself ~Part 2~

It’s Vulnerability for me!

I picked up the phone, took a deep breath to calm my nerves, and said HEY YOU!

She immediately started laughing, and I did, too. We laughed and laughed until tears were rolling down our face and cramps were shooting through my side. 

It felt good; at that moment, I knew we would be okay.

I was ready to be vulnerable and lay it all out on the table, fear didn’t live in my soul anymore. I wanted to be open and let her know exactly how I felt two years ago and how I felt today.

The excitement of being blessed with the opportunity to talk to her again was overwhelming, but this was my moment, and I had to live in it. I spoke from my heart; my Vulnerability was on full display, and I didn’t care.

I needed my friend years ago. I needed her back in my life now, so if that meant that I needed to go against everything I stand for, then so be it. My only wish was for her to hear me out. As I was talking, I thought, who is this person talking, where did she come from, and I hope she stays right where she’s at.

We ended the conversation just to start it back up again and again!

I can’t wait to see her at the start of the New Year.

Vulnerability lives within me. It’s easy for me to be just that with my kids and my husband, but the outside world sees me differently. Being this way isn’t benefiting me; quite frankly, it’s causing me heartache for the good. 

So, with that being said, the one gift I will give myself is Vulnerability… it looks good on all of us!
