Dumped Right Before Christmas

Have you ever been dumped?

More importantly, have you ever been dumped right before Christmas?

There I was, sitting on my couch, all dolled up and ready to go out for a lovely dinner. This is the best time of year to be out; the Christmas lights are bright and beautiful. There is a light feeling in the air that makes you giddy and leaves your heart tingly.

The clock couldn’t hit 7:00 pm fast enough. I spent the whole day counting down the moment that I would be sitting across from the world’s biggest asshole. Well, of course, I didn’t know that then; if I did, I would’ve opted out of being in this psychopath’s life.

I know that may sound harsh, but if the shoe fits, wear that bitch!

The last time I looked at the clock, the bright red digits were like beams blinding my eyes. Can you believe that it was 9:30 and that psycho was supposed to be here at 7:00?

He didn’t call, and he wasn’t picking up his phone, so I scrubbed all the makeup off my face like I was removing blood from a crime scene. My hands were moving a mile a minute, and so was my brain.

The night came to an end with me eating popcorn and watching the Donna Reed show. She consistently calms my nerves. Donna was and is my safe place.

I don’t know when I fell asleep, but I did, and it felt good!

When the morning struck, there was popcorn all over the bed, and the TV was still going, which is odd if you think about how the streaming services work now.

Are you still watching? That pops up if you have watched a few episodes of a show. And most of us are like, “damn it, yes, I’m here; now stop asking me that!”

A couple of days passed, and of course, I refused to call him. I figured if something terrible had happened to him, I would either read it about in the paper or have a friend tell me what they heard about the psychopath.

Four days came and went, and on the fifth day, the psychopath decided to ring my doorbell, and things were changed forever.

Part Two Tomorrow!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

      1. He was young and stupid. I went anyway and served punch. He had to walk up to me every time his date wanted something to drink. I wrote a short story about it. I was lucky because i might never have met Rooster if he hadn’t been such a jerk.

  1. Ooooohhhhh…
I’ve got one for you! I was supposed to meet a guy for supper but I had a weird feeling. He originally told me that he works nights so he sleeps till whatever. His back door was open. Uh. No. I don’t go in no back doors and besides, we were going to meet at the restaurant. He agreed. But like I said, I had a weird feeling.
I texted him before I left to let him know I was on my way. Nothing. I called as I was driving. Nothing. I called one last time stating if he didn’t call me back in the next five mintutes to not bother.
He didn’t so, I turned off and went towards a movie theatre in town. It was bitterly cold and I parked inside the old Forum, crossed the street, bought myself a lovely chicken wrap and had a beer. As I was eating, he texted me asking where I was and that the back door was open for me.
    Dude.
I finished my supper, crossed back over and went to see the movie “Cold War”. Wonderful date with myself!

Donna Reed is your safe space while anything Judy Garland is mine. I got you, Girl.

I can’t wait to find out what the monster said to you, and how you responded!

  4. Ghal, I do relate. On 5th Dec 2020, I got dumped and it hurt so bad. Considering I was the one who used to give out the “dumps”, I wasn’t ready when he ended things.

Moreover it came in when we were having a family celebration 😭.
Damn, it hurt so bad. It took a while to heal.

In a happy place right now and waiting for my prince charming to find me and I close the chapter of singlehood.

Blessings. Thanks for sharing your story.

  5. What an A$$ hole and I hope you did’t let him in. I have been stood up similar to that years ago before I met the one I am with now. I was 19. We went to the same college. The guy was all wrong for me. He already had a child. He was three years older than me and had a girlfriend whom he said wasn’t working well. He invited me to the movies. I asked him if he was still seeing that girl and he said no. So we exchanged numbers. Before we exchanged numbers we talked at work every day for weeks. He told me he would pick me up at 8 pm to go to the movies. I was so excited. Nervous the entire day waiting because ever since I laid eyes on him I had butterflies and could barely look at him, When the time was passed 8 , then 9 I called his house. His roomaate answered and told me he was with his gf. The next day of course he came up to me to talk to me and I just turned my head. I couldnt look at him. He said he was sorry and wanted to explain but the manager interrupted us. The next say when he seen me at work I told him dont bother and never taked to him again. I dont understand how anyone can do something like that and feel good about themselves

    1. Yuck yyou had an ass on your hands as well! I swear some people just don’t have common sense and rude as hell. it’s not like they were the best things since sliced bread. Just be honest and tell the truth about how you feel.
