WordPress you DELETED SO MUCH

You’re killin’ me, smalls!

Two weeks ago, I downgraded my plan on WordPress; I didn’t see the benefits of paying an unnecessary amount. I’m not selling anything on my site, so I figured the premium plan would do.

However, when I did that, my likes disappeared on the post below. So, please click on one or all the links and like my posts again. I’m only concerned about the likes disappearing because I am.

Look deeply into my eyes and tell me…..

What Do You Mean You Can’t FORGIVE?

Who Are We To Forget

Let’s Eat!

When I voiced my concern to WP engineers, he asked me, “Why do I care about the likes?”.

My response: Well, excuse the hell out of me for caring about something that you provide. Why show the number of likes and then question why WE, the USERS, wonder why the likes are incorrect?

He was such a smart ass!

But I grounded myself, and like a grown-up, I disconnected myself from the line and gave him the middle finger.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. I get that, kind of like the support i got when my posts were posting empty or when the templates made my blog unreadable. For empty posts they said i should wrote it in notepad first so i can cut and paste it, for the template being bad they had no answers other than it just takes a while to load but is fine.. no it frizzled everything up. When i start making the money to spare, I think I’m just gonna buy some space on a web host and move it all there, albeit i will have to be doing a whole lot SEO but can still do it.

    1. They are normally useless and you end up spending entirely too long online with them and it takes them too long to come back and comment. I tried the SEO plugin and messed up my entire site, it took them three days to get it right.
Do you think you are going to move to another host?

      1. If this business takes off, yeah will mostlikely. Will import word press vs being on the WordPress site also opens everything else up for free vs paying them to host it and puts you in teers to do things. I can actually link my shop into it as well and sell right from my blog then

  2. Why are they even here if they don’t want to do their job?! I hear such horror stories about them, and I really only had one bad experience years ago, but I also really try to avoid them as much as possible, too. For them to be “Happiness Engineers,” they truly don’t seem as though they are happy to help. Ugh.

  3. What a jerk that wp guy was! Makes you just want to reach through the phone and smack him. lol

I’m sorry your likes went away. Mine did, too, a few years ago when I moved my site from wp.com to a self-hosted site. It’s aggravating.

  4. They don’t sound like they were very helpful to your concerns. I’ve heard of similar things happening when people change their WP plans though. No doubt it’s due to some kind of computer protocol thingy? The tech stuff isn’t really my strong suit, good you’ve been able to keep your thoughts grounded. It’s the same across all digital media, loosing likes or seeing followers suddenly deleted in chunks or something can play on our fears and annuities when all its all just an algorithm playing silly beggars with us.

  5. Well, excuse the hell out of me for caring about something that you provide. Best line I’ve read today. It’s always something with WP, kind of like a neighbor’s dog who won’t stop barking at nothing in particular– and you just have to put up with it.

  6. Sorry you’re having issues. I spent a few hours recently with a WP chat helper. I am having some trouble with photos and my posts not updating immediately when I make a change. Both are a recent problem. Needless to say, nothing is resolved, and I left the chat more confused than when I started. I will revisit when I have a month to deal with the fixes that may or may not help. 😂

  7. I agree with Ally – great line!
Why pay for something you don’t use? I’m thisclose from doing the same. That said, why remove these from the posts already posted? I hate dealing with them and would have done the same.

      1. WP is continually playing with things and making it more difficult for writers to just bloody write. Happiness engineers, my foot. They don’t care about our happiness as they keep making us miserable!

  8. I downgraded and everything plummeted. Could be a coincidence, could people got bored of my blog or left WP. Struggle in comparison to previous with visitors. I keep plodding along though lol keep up the good work. I’ve like your posts my friend 🙏 Faux

  9. You made a wise decision Belladonna. Downgrading shouldn’t affect what you already have unless you are selling products or services. Still there are other options if you do. Were you able to reach them via phone? They really have some piss poor customer service. I have been trying to resolve a problem with some people unable to hear my podcast. This is unacceptable and disappointing to put it decently. UGH! 😫
