Back in my arms again

Parenting is hard, but giving my love is easy!

I didn’t know what I was doing when I became a mom. I didn’t know how to change diapers, feed a baby, care for a baby, or be a mom. But the one thing I was sure about was giving my love.

I quickly realized that if I could give my kids love, everything else would fall into place!

When I see my kids, all I want to do is:

protect them

hug them

love them

feed them

be with them

It’s the be with them part that rips up my heart. As you all know, my two oldest kids are in college. My daughter is close to home, but my son not so much. He’s a nice haul away, but distance means nothing when you know your son needs a hug. When I typed that last line, I needed to gather my emotions before I continued.

I will never be able to explain how much I need this kid. His happiness completes me. So when I spoke with him last week, he sounded a little down and tired. And as you all know, I had the flu ALL WEEK, but I needed to try every remedy known to man so that I could catch my plane to get to my boy.

At the beginning of his school year, I planned out which football games we would fly to, so this weekend was in the books for quite some time. I know my son was calling this week to make sure his father and I were going to stick to our plan.

Tears fell when I saw him run out with the football team, and I was a freakin wreck. My husband kept laughing at me, hugging me, and saying your one little ball of love.

Seeing your kids grow up is a blessing; watching them do life brings you so much joy, but saying see you later hurts LIKE HELL!

Hurry up and get here Thanksgiving!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine and I’m honored!

  2. I do not have any children. However, I am the grown child of a wonderful mother who loved me dearly so I understand you completely.

You sound like a great mom. One who is full of fierce love from the heart.

I don’t know any of your children but from my experience from this type of love you display is that it never went unappreciated by me, and I loved my mom and would go to the ends of the earth for her too!

    Your children are so lucky!
