Having a Dad is a FLEX!

The importance of having a father in your life is often underrated.

Being a DAD and/or having a DAD in your life is a MAJOR FLEX! 

What does Flex mean? 

In this context, “flex” refers to showcasing something with pride or confidence. It’s like demonstrating or celebrating a positive aspect of your life that you take pride in. In the text, having a father or being a father is presented as something impressive and worthy of recognition, suggesting that it’s a significant strength or advantage.

Our society often views women and mothers as the most critical persons in children’s lives, but I beg to differ. As a mother, I know how important I am to my children; however, their father is equally important to them. It’s crucial to validate and understand the importance of fathers in children’s lives.

Do boys need their fathers?

Women can not teach a boy how to be a man! We can do our best, but we don’t know what it’s like to be a man, so how can we teach something that we can’t relate to? 

Boys need their fathers for a unique set of roles: role models, emotional support, guidance, mentorship, understanding of masculinity, building confidence, developing life skills, acquiring socialization skills, and receiving love. This unique role of fathers in boys’ development is often overlooked, but it’s crucial and empowering for parents to understand.

Do girls need their fathers?

Women are better equipped to teach girls to be women because, of course, we know that path. However, dads play an irreplaceable role in preparing their daughters for healthy relationships, providing emotional support and life skills, serving as positive role models, and helping to build their confidence. This reassurance of the irreplaceable role of fathers in girls’ lives should instill confidence and a sense of security in parents.
