Look After Yourself ~Part 2~ SURPRISE~

Here we go again; we made it to see another Friday, and for that, I say, PASS ME A GLASS OF WINE, PLEASE!!!

Last week, I left you on read, and I was supposed to follow up on Tuesday with my weekend surprise, but I decided to include part two in my Friday post, “Look After Yourself.”

What I did last weekend ~Part 1 is here~ Look After Yourself

I didn’t want to put anything on the internet about my husband, daughter, and I traveling to Ohio to join my family in a wonderful surprise birthday for my brother-in-law.

My sister and nieces decided to throw him a 70’s theme party, complete with disco balls, funky music, and retro costumes. Boy, did we have a time!

There’s something truly special about being around people you love, especially family. Our bond is unmatched and brings a unique joy to our lives.

The season of LOVE

Well, my people, what are you planning to do on this lovefest of a weekend? I don’t want to read any comments about how love should be shown every day, so this day means nothing.

FALSE!

We should, of course, show love every day, but this weekend, dive a little deeper and go the extra mile for the one you love. You don’t have to spend money, but you can give much more than that, YOUR TIME!

So please tell, what are your plans? How are you looking after yourself and that special someone this weekend?

How I’m looking after myself this weekend

Today, I am going to put on this sexy red dress that just arrived, fix my face with new makeup that I’m so excited about, then go to dinner, and finally dance the night away with my Valentine.

Please have a wonderful weekend, my beautiful people!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. It is so heart warming to hear about tight knitted families and inlaws! It must have been a great party. Of course you couldn’t risk word to get out about the surprise party 😉
I will prepare some extra festive food this weekend to be enjoyed with a glass of rosé. ❤

  2. Whelp, you don’t want to read my comments. Lol.

My special someone is me. So I’ll be resting, relaxing, working out, cooking, and going to my baby cousin’s last basketball game of the season.

This day is just another day of the week to and for me. This weekend isn’t really different from last weekend. I’ll be taking it “15 minutes at a time” and always loving on my loved ones.

      1. I am! OMG, I am! My baby cousin did great today in his last basketball game of the season and I am now under my heated blanket, sipping coffee, and about to watch a movie in a little bit.

  3. Sounds fabulous!

I hope you fully enjoy this weekend and live life to the fullest.

For years now, I’ve been living in my own little bubble. Since my oldest child’s death in 2021, I haven’t wanted to hang out with anyone, going out anywhere, or do much.

I’ve been in this funk. In this depression. This sadness.

This year – I’ve decided I’m taking my life back, living it to the fullest, and doing so many things I’ve been wanting to – and haven’t allowed myself to do.

    STARTING THIS WEEKEND!!!!!

I’m actually going to hang out with a few friends and their kids – along with mine coming along – because to me – that’s a part of taking care of myself.

Finally, not making excuses on why I can’t go.

It’s time to move on and start living again and be happy. 🙂

    Love this post. 🙂

      1. Thank you, tons! That means the world to me.
So far, this year – I’m doing okay. I’ve gotten out more, hung out with some friends more and I’m starting to live again.
It’s been a long 4 years now, but little by little- I’m getting back to the ME I used to be.
I appreciate you so much. I hope you’re doing well this weekend. ❤
