Look After Yourself Friday

When you’re too busy not looking after yourself!

You make a late post on days like that. I didn’t mean to wait this long to publish a post, but the day got away from me.

So here I am, sitting in my closet with the door closed, writing this post and trying to hurry before my family comes looking for me. Today is supposed to be my day, but my husband insists on having a family movie night tonight instead of tomorrow.

He’s not fooling anyone by switching days. He thinks he is, but I know better!

Ya see, when he and I were away last weekend, our kids went to see the Barbie movie, and he was so jealous. He wanted to sit between his girls and make jokes throughout the film.

He actually told me that he was sad because our kids would have inside jokes about the movie, and he wouldn’t know what they were talking about. I said boy be quiet, and let’s enjoy our dinner. He said you’re right; I’ll enjoy our dinner and then see if they want to go again with me.

Y’all, we weren’t home more than five minutes when he asked them if they would go with him to see Barbie. Of course, they said yes, but he would have to wear pink like them. He happily agreed.

So there ya have it; I know he plans to see Barbie tomorrow, which is why movie Family movie night is tonight. Therefore MY day will be tomorrow!

Looking After Myself

I plan to look after myself by working out and making this delicious treat I will share with y’all on Tuesday. Then I’m going to lie in my bed and read for HOURS!

I would love to know how everyone plans to look after themselves.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. Aww! Dear Bella, sometimes we need to have a special space or time with our selves, understand you perfectly. But do not blame to your husband he is deeply in love with you, he can’t resist
your company. Maybe you can open a bottle of wine, some cheese, olives and relax, ask him for a foot massage, your daughter fix your nails and your boy prepares dinner. Then two things can happen or they all consent to you ot they go to their rooms and leave you alone…
Just an idea, enjoy your Friday evening. Thank’s!

  2. Thanks for sharing your story. I think it’s sweet that your husband is so invested in spending time with the kids and being able to be a part of their experiences… Although I know it can be annoying as well lol. I went and saw Barbie last night with my two daughters. We actually left my husband and son at home to fend for themselves. They seem to be just fine. Although I think my son probably would have liked the movie! We enjoyed it. I even cried a few times.
My favorite way to look after myself is exercise. I’ve been enjoying a quiet, walk alone after dinner, listening to praise music on my headphones, and just enjoying the sky, the clouds, the sun set, the soft breeze, etc. Sometimes I can literally feel the anxiousness leaving my body. Happy Monday. I hope you have an amazing week.

      He is a mess!
Girl, I cried too. That was such a good plot and so much truth in the story being told.
Your sons will probably get a kick out of it. My son saw it the first time with my girls. This time he said, I’ll sit this one out. LOL

  3. Tomorrow is my day as well ♥️♥️♥️ I’m going to soak my feet in my homedics bubble foot spa and then I will lay back and relax in my hot tub for about an hour. If I get too relaxed I might take a mid afternoon nap or grab a good book to take me on a little mental getaway ☺️
