Let Me Clear My Throat

Before I go any further let me say this. Yes, I will be cooking again but let me get out of my feelings first. I am a woman on edge and, I will throw a tomato or an onion at someone right now. Read More

Being A Mom Is Easy… Says NO ONE

She is laying in bed half awake and half brain dead. She can’t help but wonder where the night went. Her legs are a little swollen, feet are sensitive to touch, hair feels greasy like it hasn’t been washed in weeks. When she felt her face, she could tell that her bags were back more prominent than ever. She couldn’t help but to look up at the ceiling and say, “do I have to repeat this schedule again.” Read More

The Day I Discovered My Droopy Ass

Why Jesus!!! Here I am about to go on vacation and trying on clothes to wear. Sad to say that I never noticed how much my body type had changed. I mean yes, at this point I have lost almost all my baby weight, and the scale is looking good, but then I turned around and there it was dropping and almost scrapping the ground. Why is this happening, and how can it be fixed? Read More

Not Everyone Can Be A King

It’s sickening to see men walk around thinking they should be treated like a King but disrespect and abandon the people they should cherish the most. If you make a choice to turn your back on your kids and their needs, then you face the fact you just might grow old alone. Read More

Time To Go Bananas

Oh, the new things that I learn every day. It seems like every day the rules change about bananas, apples, chocolate, and the list can go on and on. I’m sick of it! I remember a time that eating bananas were said to be suitable for the digestive system and a great source of potassium. In 2002 I was on the road to regaining my pre-baby body back, and I worked out like a mad woman as well as having a strict diet. Bananas were my go-to source for muscle recovery and helped me stay full for a lengthy amount of time during and after my workout. I was able to go from 175 pounds to 155 and I felt amazing. No muscle cramping, no headaches, my energy level was high and I felt amazing internally as well as externally.

I remember how excited I was when I read that 1 banana is sufficient enough to sustain a 90-minute workout. Because before I learned that I was eating an apple and that did nothing for me. I would feel light headed halfway through my workout and feel like quitting. Let’s face it what are we accomplishing if we are too weak and hungry to complete a workout. Nutrition is everything and without it working out is a waste of time.

Now lets fast forward to 2019. I have read an endless amount of articles stating that bananas are a leading factor in causing belly fat, and they are 25% sugar. They should never be eaten alone but coupled with bacon or oatmeal and black coffee. So here I am thinking I do not have time for all that. I personally need something quick and easy to get me out the door in a timely manner. I workout first thing in the morning so that I can get home, shower and start writing and visiting my clients. I NEED A QUICK ROUTINE and these articles are ruining my life!!!!

So I decided to shut out all the noise and do what works best for my body and that’s eating bananas twice a day. Either I blend them in smoothies or eat’em as I’m walking out the door. I’m doing what works for me and eating everything in moderation without rules and I couldn’t be happier.

Focusing on the benefits and nothing else. Here are a few.

  • Bananas Contain Nutrients That Moderate Blood Sugar Levels
  •  May Improve Digestive Health
  • May aid weight loss
  • Contains powerful antioxidants
  • Helps you feel more full
  • Improves insulin sensitivity
  • Improves kidney health

Stuck In My Zone

Is it okay to be stuck in your zone? How about if it’s a positive zone? I have to admit that this is who I am. I rarely make plans because I dislike stepping out of my norm unless it involves traveling. Now that’s a different story altogether. If plans include making money and or seeing the world, other than that I am good to be left alone.

Not Your Average Flatbread Pizza

Anyone who knows me and have hung out with me on my blog, know that I love pizza. LOVE LOVE LOVE pizza. I am so particular about it and need more than just a deep crust, I need the crust to be bursting with flavor. I want the crust to be so good that I can eat it without anything on it. For me, it should be as flavorful as a breadstick.

I Cheated The Whole Day

img_4424.jpg

On Sunday morning I woke up washed my face, brushed my teeth, threw on some workout clothes, attempted to comb my hair and gave up really quickly, grabbed my cycle shoes and ran out the door. You see If I am working out early in the weekend then I need to stay focused and run out the door or, I will start folding laundry, putting dishes away, and start running my mouth talking a mile a minute ton, my husband. Which, he hears every other word if that. Read More

The Best Revenge Is Living Well

img_3470.jpg

How many times have you heard someone say that stress can kill you? I have heard that too many times and I’ve lost count. I was always thought that it was dumbest expression and even to this day I don’t like saying it. I know I don’t like repeating it because it was always stated without an educated explanation. However, over the years, I have dedicated my life to helping people lose weight and in some cases gain weight. Throughout both journeys trials and tribulations will come and you have to learn how to properly handle each one in order to live well. Read More
