Time To Go Bananas

Oh, the new things that I learn every day. It seems like every day the rules change about bananas, apples, chocolate, and the list can go on and on. I’m sick of it! I remember a time that eating bananas were said to be suitable for the digestive system and a great source of potassium. In 2002 I was on the road to regaining my pre-baby body back, and I worked out like a mad woman as well as having a strict diet. Bananas were my go-to source for muscle recovery and helped me stay full for a lengthy amount of time during and after my workout. I was able to go from 175 pounds to 155 and I felt amazing. No muscle cramping, no headaches, my energy level was high and I felt amazing internally as well as externally.

I remember how excited I was when I read that 1 banana is sufficient enough to sustain a 90-minute workout. Because before I learned that I was eating an apple and that did nothing for me. I would feel light headed halfway through my workout and feel like quitting. Let’s face it what are we accomplishing if we are too weak and hungry to complete a workout. Nutrition is everything and without it working out is a waste of time.

Now lets fast forward to 2019. I have read an endless amount of articles stating that bananas are a leading factor in causing belly fat, and they are 25% sugar. They should never be eaten alone but coupled with bacon or oatmeal and black coffee. So here I am thinking I do not have time for all that. I personally need something quick and easy to get me out the door in a timely manner. I workout first thing in the morning so that I can get home, shower and start writing and visiting my clients. I NEED A QUICK ROUTINE and these articles are ruining my life!!!!

So I decided to shut out all the noise and do what works best for my body and that’s eating bananas twice a day. Either I blend them in smoothies or eat’em as I’m walking out the door. I’m doing what works for me and eating everything in moderation without rules and I couldn’t be happier.

Focusing on the benefits and nothing else. Here are a few.

Stuck In My Zone

Is it okay to be stuck in your zone? How about if it’s a positive zone? I have to admit that this is who I am. I rarely make plans because I dislike stepping out of my norm unless it involves traveling. Now that’s a different story altogether. I Cheated The Whole Day

Not Your Grannies Meatballs

Whenever I think about meatballs I’m like umm no thanks! They always look so dry. Which is why I hate meatloaf and meatballs are right up there in the same category. Well, they use to be but now I am in love with meatballs. I was determined to find a way to make a good meatball sandwich or pasta and meatballs. So guess where I found it? if you said Pinterest then you were right.

I have been trying to find more Keto inspired dishes. I can do without the carbs in the evening but my family shouldn’t have to. Keto dishes makes life so easy for me. If you look back at some of my meals you will see that I have provided the option of keeping your dish totally Keto or adding carbs.

Not only do I have to cook Keto and non-Keto dinners but I also cook for a pescatarian.  My trick is t make enough of each meal that will last for two days. Leftovers are a must in this house.

Without further ado lets move on to the meal.

OK, here is option #1 Huge sub rolls for my carb babies

Option #2 meatballs and salad for me. I like plain Caesar salad if I’m having a saucy dish.

And option #3 vegan meatless sausage for my vegetarian baby.

Whew! Let’s get these Ingredients out

Will make 12-14 medium meatballs 

Will make 5-6 medium vegan meatballs 

  • 1-pounds of ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Basil
  • 1 tbs Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbs Oregano
  • 2 tbsp Pepper
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 Vegan Meatless Sausage roll

In a large bowl can buying your meat seasonings and all of your cheese. Mix it all up and form the balls into your desired size.

Place in a nonstick pan that is coated with extra virgin olive oil on the bottom. Place the meatballs with a small space in between each one. Cook on 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.

At this point, you can either eat the meatballs with a salad or from my carb lovers have it with pasta or a meatball sub.

If you choose to make a meatball sub make sure you remove a little of the bread on the inside so the meatballs will be able to fit properly. Then place three meatballs inside of the sub sprinkle cheese on top and bake for five minutes.
