Look After Yourself Friday

Friday, you always show up right when we need you!

Monday was a bully, then you role in as a freakin savior. Speaking of Savior, this is Good Friday; how great is that?

Today I hope you choose to show mercy to anyone that needs it. Be that breath of fresh air they might need, and don’t be quick to judge someone—live judgment to the one who died on the cross. Whether you believe in God or not, we all know how we should treat ourselves and others.

A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about Karma ~Six Word Story~Karma. I genuinely believe that what goes around comes around. I have been on both sides of the spectrum and have felt the blow of Karma; therefore, I know it’s real.

We all make mistakes, but we have to learn, grow, and do better!

Today I am looking after myself by giving myself a challenge. I’m challenging my stubborn self to give more grace and mercy to others. Now, I’m not saying I’ll allow someone to walk over me, use me, talk about me, and then I still show up in their life.

Hell naw, that’s not what I’m saying! However, I will be more patient and allow people to explain themselves and be more understanding about whatever they are going through!

Life is hard, and I refuse to be the one that makes someone else’s life harder than it has to be. I want to be the reason you smile!

I would love to hear what you are doing to look after yourself on this fabulous Friday.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. “Whether you believe in God or not, we all know how we should treat ourselves and others.” – This is so perfect and powerfully said!! I love it. It is a line we tread between Boundaries & Kindness.

  2. “we all know how we should treat ourselves and others” sigh, tell that to the woman who yelled at me tjis morning when the wind blew my car door into hers. I profusely apologized without tone to something beyond my control and to her it was as if i did it on malicious purpose.

    1. An I’m sorry should go a long way but some folk are so extra. Heer bad energy was searching ftoruin someones day and I hope it didn’t work.

      1. Naw, i had a pretty swell birthday. Plus i let her yell at me, i handle loud people but not returning the loud. I kill their rant with quiet.

  3. Bravo, you! It can sometimes be difficult to extend patience, but it does have its benefits, for the giver and receiver. Friday delivered healing movement, moving writing, and a special evening with lifelong friends. 💞 Happy Easter to you and yours!

  4. Belladonna, who says you don’t get down to the nitty gritty of it all? You my dear make me laugh through your messages of keeping it REAL! But sistah, I love this: “Life is hard, and I refuse to be the one that makes someone else’s life harder than it has to be. I want to be the reason you smile!” Well girlfriend, I am smiling so you did your part! Happy Easter to you and your family…and honey chile, leave Ms. Karma alone! LMBO! 🤣😆😲😜😂

      1. Oh sistah girlfriend, please know how much I appreciate you too. 🙏🏼 You know, sometimes it seems like the weight of the world is on our backs, not our shoulders. It’s hard to straighten up sometimes. But honey, like that Frosty the Snowman cartoon song, “Just put one foot in front of the other!” ⛄👣⛄ Heck, if it worked for Frosty you know it will work for us too! Keepin’ it real all the way around. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

  5. So agree with what you’ve said about karma. Our actions definitely have consequences and that’s why we need to try to be better every day!
