Lose weight by EATING

Repos; Perfect for ~Look After Yourself Friday~

Why do so many people think starvation or eating salads is the only way to lose weight?

I am here to tell you that that is incorrect information. And if anyone tells you that, please slap them and then slap them again for me. From here on out, I will be posting meals that are easy to make. They will all be so easy that a two-year-old could prepare the meals. Well, maybe a three old!

How can food help you lose weight?

If you are eating the right amount of carbs and protein, you will have the energy and drive to sweat. Everyone is different, and food may affect your system differently than your best friend, sister, mother, brother, auntie, or whomever else. So take time to learn your body. I’m not a nutritionist; therefore, I can tell you what to eat, but I will give you suggestions.

Foods you should eat sparingly

  1. Chocolate
  2. Bread
  3. Salt
  4. Fast Food
  5. Refined Carbohydrates
  6. High Fat Processed Foods

These are just a few but let’s focus on what you should eat.

Foods you should incorporate into your DIET

  1. Chicken Thighs/Breast
  2. Fish
  3. Potatoes
  4. Rice
  5. Spinach
  6. Raspberries
  7. Blue Berries
  8. Carrots
  9. Green, Red, Orange Peppers
  10. Green Veggies
  11. WATER WATER WATER

Once again, I could go on and on, but here are the basics.

  1. Mmm, pretty good advice! I bet coconut milk would make some tasty cauliflower rice too! I usually replace rice and potatoes with another veggie, except for sweet potatoes (I have a weakness). Parsnips make great fries, for example (so do sweet potatoes), and zucchini spiralized is my spaghetti ☺️

    1. Oh yummmm Kim!!! That sounds fantastic, I use cauliflower and jasmine rice as well. Sweet potato fries are sent from heaven 🙌🏽😍
Please share your zucchini pasta recipe and pics. I’ve been meaning to try that.

      1. I’m going to try it next week and blog the recipe. I’m excited!!! I love cooking new things, it makes cooking not feel like a chore 😂

  2. This is such good and wise advice! So many people try and starve themselves and it just doesn’t work. This minute you go back to your old patterns you gain the weight back. Making better choices is such a better plan. BTW the chicken looks delicious. Hugs, C

    1. You’re so welcome Patti Pat!
It was so good and I have a few people that are going to try brown rice and they will let me know how it turns out. 😍

  3. Wow! Good and healthy advice! I love your recipe, looks so delicious! Good for being healthy.
Thank you very much for share, Belladonna.
    Have a wonderful day!

  4. That looks so good! I think losing weight in a healthy way has so much to do with what you eat and eating healthy rather than starving yourself.

      1. You have all your ducks in a row.
Eating properly, looking healthy and beautiful, feeling good.
You put in the work my dear.
        Happy Saturday too. ♥ 🙌
        Enjoy

  5. Excellent advice!

You don’t need to starve yourself to look slim. You should eat more high-fiber and high-protein foods.

High-fiber foods, such as vegetables and fruit, are filling, so they prevent hunger and help you eat fewer portions. Plus, high-protein foods, such as lean meats and fish, are also filling, so they prevent overeating.

By eating healthy foods and moving your body, you will maintain a beautiful figure.

  6. So good Bella! I am with you on this. Water is a big deal for me as it has helped me cut out sodas and other stuff over the years. It actually helps to energize me when I’m hydrated. Also breathing, I believe in meditation for mind, body and soul. People say it’s corny until they partake long enough to see the benefits.

      1. Right?

In my early thirties, my lower back was awful. I was getting out of bed like an octogenarian. So I started doing transcendental meditation. Never had the back problems again.

  7. I hate what the word diet is; teaching new runners, whenever any of them tell me that they want to run to lose weight, I point out that they may not lose weight, they may even gain weight at the start because they’ll gain muscle….but they’ll be healthier, fit, lower blood pressure, and just will become healthier all around…….weight lose depending on who is good…but way too often its a focus
