~Pick Your BATTLES~

Every battle isn’t worth a fight!

After being married for over 22 years and a mom for 21 years, I’ve learned to pick my battles. Not every action needs a reaction, and definitely not an explosive one.

If you yell all the time, your kids will tune you out. They will say, ” Oh, that’s just mom being a mom, ” and wave you off. So the best thing to do is, save significant reactions for big things. Ultimately you have to choose your battles and pick the good ones, not the ones you can brush under the rug and forget about it. But the ones that are worth the fight.

There are very few things that are worth the fight.

Battles that aren’t worth the fight

  1. When I log on to Facebook or Twitter and see people battling foolishness, I become concerned. However, my concern is more so wondering how the hell these people have this much time and what they expect to get out of this back and forth.
  2. Going back and forth about gossip. Who the hell cares what someone says about you? They can kick rocks if they aren’t praying for you or helping you pay your bills.
  3. Battles that have a WHO CARES OUTCOME

Battles that are worth the fight

Anything that will improve your life or the lives of the ones you love.

Make a promise to yourself to keep your cool; think before you speak or type. Don’t waste your time on things that won’t benefit you.

I hope that everyone reading this will have the knowledge they need to walk away from battles that no longer serve them, and have the courage to fight for what matters.

Pick your battles!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. This is good advice and sometimes with picking your battles, you have to know when is the time to walk away from a battle that is not worth your time or energy. In the end, you win by walking away. I am sure most of us have been through this with jobs and with people.

      1. You have good advice and I like reading your blog if only to remind myself!! Sometimes in the moment, you can doubt your resolve to walk away but in the end, it is the right decision.

      2. That makes me so happy, I am so honored! It’s so easy to doubt but I’ve found that once I choose to walk away it becomes easier and easier.
I enjoy reading your blog too!

  2. Fabulous post! In general, any bicker that starts on social media is worth avoiding, though I have to confess I have been pulled into social media debates once or twice, to my own chagrin.

    Happy Valentine’s Day! <3

    1. Happy Valentine’s Day!
People on line are crazy and arguing about everything, now many are going back and forth about the super half time show and how they hated it!

  3. Yup, definitely pick your battles. All of them are not worth getting mad about and like you said if you yell all the time everyone will just tune you out.
