WordPress I’m digging for answers

WordPress, ya did me wrong!

For the last three days, my likes on my posts TANKED! So you know I had to do some digging. And this is what I found out.

  1. My blog only showed an excerpt of my post, on the mobile app, which I did not change.
  2. A lot of people reported that they were not able to like four of my posts.

So if you still need to read these four posts, PLEASE do so! Hopefully, my problem will be fixed.

Post 1; You are wrong

Post 2; Mental Health Check ~1/30

Post 3; Six~Word Story; Excuses

Post 4; Being healthy is a choice

Thank you all so much.

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

  1. I don’t know why they’ve separated the experience the way they have. Often, when visiting the actual web addresses (not the WP Reader), we are unable to Like or Comment without signing in again, although we’re already signed in. The bypass is the popup blocker, which many never see. Another bypass is to go back to the Reader version and Like a post there. But, we really want visitors visiting our actual sites! Feelin’ ya 💙

    1. EXACTLY!!!!! We take a lot of time trying to design our sites and it would be nice for everyone to go there. But like you said they make it so difficult for us to comment and like posts except for on the reader. I find that so odd!

      1. I think WP must ne doing more “adjusting” to the platform as this wasn’t an issue evenm a few weeks ago! Wonder if this means there are more official changes on the way!

  2. I understand your frustration. I know the number of people who are [allegedly] reading my blog this week has tanked. I never know if it’s what I write about OR if WP is playing some game. Maybe both… maybe neither… 🤷‍♀️

  3. My numbers tanked over the weekend. I just thought either people were too busy, or I was being censored, which I am anyways. I can be considered controversial, so I just chalked it up to that.

    1. Yes they will definitely sensor you! A few folks told me that my like bottom was gone and sure enough it was! I have no idea why. Trying to figure that out.

  4. I’ve noticed all of those same things on your blog lately. I think maybe on mine too, but not sure. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the new jetpack switch? I’ve always noticed that they do things I think are odd, but since the switch, it’s gotten weirder.

    1. I didn’t even think about thE Jetpack! You may be on to something. If you make any changes you have to check EVERYTHING and the sad part is I don’t know what the hell to check! I’m a damn amateur and need constant help 🤦🏽‍♀️

  5. I was wondering what was going on, but I was able to go to the site itself and like your posts there.

I don’t like these new changes springing up about in WordPress. It’s like, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Geez.

  6. Argh stupid WordPress! I didn’t like when they changed the WP Reader the last time and I know there have been numerous glitches with likes, which I’ve had on my site too. Hope it’s all resolved soon if it isn’t already so everyone can enjoy & like your awesome posts! Ps. I hadn’t noticed a problem on my end for your site but I read it directly in the browser, not usually through the Reader. xx
