True joy can’t be bought, nor can it be faked!
Some folks search for it for a lifetime and never find it. Some have found it but aren’t equipped to keep it. No-fault of their own; maybe they weren’t taught to cherish good moments, people, and everything that makes your soul feel good. It’s easy for us to take those things for granted.
So because of that, I have questions;
- Do we have to have the things we love stripped from us to appreciate what we had?
- Do we have to hit rock bottom to see that we should have loved and respected where we used to be?
It’s so concerning when I see someone go through a life-threatening illness and others shrug it off. They can’t put themselves in someone else’s shoes, like, “oh, well, it’s not me; therefore, I don’t feel.” But when that same person has life hit them like a ton of bricks, they want the world to stop and acknowledge their pain.
Not only do they want the world to stop, but now suddenly, they understand the pain of another. And once they are back on their feet, they now know JOY.
I have to admit that I can relate to this to a point. I have felt hardship and heartbreak throughout my life, and just recently, I can add a health scare to that list. It blows my mind when I think about the many times I hit my breaking point and didn’t think I would feel okay, let alone JOY.
The other night, I went to dinner with my favorite people (my family), and we arrived 30 minutes early, so we sat and chit-chatted and then took pics in their beautiful lobby. When I posted the pics on IG, my niece Dm’d me and said …..“it’s the joy for me.”
I felt that, and damn it; I appreciate the fact that it shows.
JOY, JOY, JOY, GET YOU SOME!

Girlfriend, I got mad respect for those red slip ons. 🤣😆😂 Do you remember that children’s song, “When you’re happy and you know it clap your hands?” Well sista, 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💃🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👠… Even if you are feeling down, may you get up victoriously. Never allow someone to steal your joy and never give it to someone undeserving. Hold on to it because when you face adversity, you can hit it head on with peace, love, and unspeakable joy!
