Losing weight and getting into shape is easier than you think!
The holidays are approaching, and everyone’s trying to burn as many calories as possible between snacking, drinking, and having fun.
So what’s your go-to?
Cardio…cardio is the top go-to, and guess what? We are all wasting our time if we think for one second that cardio is the only thing we should do to burn that max amount of calories.
As I sit at my desk this morning, I’ve seen at least ten women go speed walking by. And I can only hope they have ankle weights or arm weights or are going home to get a quick weight session after their walk. Speed walking is not the game changer, but weights are.
The best way to get into shape and stay in shape
Choosing a type of cardio that you enjoy doing is the first step. Well, I take that back; nutrition is the first step!
After you nail those two things, it’s time to focus on weights. The key to weight training is to train all areas of your body. For example;
Monday is leg day
Tuesday is upper body
Wednesday full body
Thursday is arm day
Friday is leg day
Saturday, no weights, just cardio
Sunday Yoga and rest
The above is the schedule I have followed for years, and it works for me. Having a go-to plan balances me and alleviates the guessing about what to do. You can complete your workout within 60 minutes when you get a game plan together.
And another thing, stop rushing through your workouts. There are 24 hours in a day, and your body deserves for you to give it 60 minutes of love. You don’t have to go hardcore every day; in fact, that’s harmful and will cause injury.
So keep this one tip in mind, your cardio session should be done at a conversational pace. You are on the right track if you can socialize while bringing your heart rate up.
Happy Training, please let me know if you have any questions!
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Wonderful advice, Belladonna. 💕🙏💕
Thank you Grace! Mixing these two together will prevent over training. Which causes injury and surgery 🥹
My pleasure. Good to know.💕🙏💕

I do light weights and walking running.
That’s a perfect combo and something you can do for the rest of your life. Great work Michelle😍💜🙌🏽

Girlfriend, I simply can’t keep up with your high intense energy. You are a beast!!! 🚴🏽♀️🏋🏽♂️🏃🏽♀️ Lookin’ good doing it too!!! 🤩
Thank you Kim💗💗 I love doing everything slow and in control now
Do you do virtual coaching?
Yes I do💜 I just started back up and I’m so happy I did. Virtual is so much better than all the driving I was doing to see each client.
That’s wonderful! 🙌🏻 I danced my way, virtually, through the pandemic. I do like the convenience of that, but I also enjoy the energy of in-person.
Yes I really like to be in person as well, especially for my older clients . They are not as savvy as some with online classes.
Good plan Belladonna. I hope to start one I’m fully recovered from my surgery.
Give your body a good amount of time to heal and then modify!
That’s what I’m doing. I need to strengthen my back muscles. I hadn’t walked for around 6 months so now walking makes my back ache. I’m looking for exercises that I can do either standing, sitting or on the bed. Can’t do it on the floor.
Chair exercises are great and can be so effective. Make sure you have comfy sneakers on when you do go for your walks.
Thanks! I’ll look them up. ❤️
